God wants to give us himself - his kind governance of our lives, his abundant and eternal life in our souls, his holy and loving presence with us - and he is so wonderful to us that we can be happy in him no matter what our circumstances.

Jesus is offering us the supreme blessing of God's presence right now, right here, whatever we're going through, whatever problems or pains are afflicting us, whatever failures or frustrations we're up against so let's look up to heaven and open up our hearts to God.

9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
