• Mise en scene- The character of ‘Vito Corleone’ is wearing a Tux, suggesting higher status, wealthy, alpha male.

• With the character sitting in a chair it suggest he has authority and is the boss giving out orders. To the right-hand side there is black portion of the screen; another character that the audience can’t see, showing how he isn’t as important as he is the one taking the orders from the character behind the desk.

• A close up shot is used to show a certain feature of a subject, in this case it shows a character peering through the slots of a blind.

Shot type: The mid-shot shows the subject from the shoulders up, allowing the audience to view the characters movements .

Shot type: Here we can see a ‘long-shot’ , it creates a realistic view for the audience for them to define and understand what type of persona the character shown has. Ie- dull, run down café suggests a shady, dodgy atmosphere.

A close up shot contains just one persons face. It is used to allow viewers to understand the emotions the character is feeling. It also creates an interaction between the audience and the character ,as we feel the appropriate emotion for what's happening in the scene.

I would claim this to be a full shot as it practically contains complete view of all the characters. It is used so viewers can take in the type of costumes the characters are wearing (suits) which may help the audience the identify relations between characters and who is of higher authority

Shot type: An over the shoulder shot has been used to when two characters are having a conversation. Lighting: Back lighting has been used to illuminate the character from the back.

Shot type: A two shot has been used to establish the relationship between these two characters. Mise-En-Scene: The character on the left has a stern, stiff facial expression, where as the man on the right uses the gesture of blocking the man with his arm as if to calm him down.

Full Shot: It contains full view of all characters within the frame but also gives the audience an insight of the setting too. We can also see the costumes and props used within the scene to help depict

Shot type: A three shot has been used to show the relationship between the three actors. From it we can interpret that the man in the middle has been caught or having a discussion with the police offices.

Shot type: The point of a close up shot is to focus in on the facial expression of the character for the audience to understand the emotions they are feeling at that point in time. It is also used to either make the audience feel comfortable or uncomfortable.

Two-Shot: A medium shot that show the relationship between two characters. From the snippet on the left we can infer that they have a strong, positive relationship by the affection that is being shown.

Lighting: Low- key lighting is used to cast a shadow over the actor, which reflects the unseen emotions of the character he is playing.

Mise-en-scene: Both men have a cigar in hand which was a predominant trend in the 1940s/50s. Both dressed in suits to suggests that they are high classed men.

Lighting: Surrounded by bright lights, suggests a purity and naivety about her.

This is the first sole, appearance of a female throughout the trailer so far.
