“God Bless the USA”If tomorrow all the things were gone,I'd worked for all my life.And I had to start again,with just my children and my wife. I'd thank my lucky stars,to be livin here today.‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,and they can't take that away. And I'm proud to be an American,where at least I know I'm free.And I wont forget the men who died,who gave that right to me. Biography of Lee Greenwood• Lee Greenwood is a country singer who likes to mix many

different types of country music together to make his own piece. His most famous piece is “God Bless the USA” which was released in 1984. Although country music does not like to often portray conflicts in politics and world events, Greenwood used the conservative movement to write his song. “God Bless the USA” is at the top of the list of the best patriotic songs. It tops “God Bless America” and “The National Anthem”. Lee Greenwood’s songs have earned him the name of Country Music Association male vocalist of the year in 1983 and 1984. When Greenwood was writing “God Bless the USA”, he had no idea of the impact that his song would make.

• The stars on the American Flag changed through out the years. Each star on the Flag represents one of the 50 states in the US. The first flag had 13 stars to represent the 13 original colonies.

• The theme is a strong feeling of pried to be an American. This shows that this is a free country and this song expresses that freedom.

• This song is through the point of view of a man who has lost everything except for his family. Even though he lost everything he is still proud to be apart of this country and shows his patriotism

• Personification is when you give human characteristics to something that is non living, in this case this is used to show the United States as a woman.
