BRAIN PROGRAM: 4 Interactive brain stations:Electrophysiology: learn about the role electricity plays in brain function;see that electricity at work

Schizophrenia: Jeopardy-style game that teaches you about the characteristics of this complex disorder.

Research: Questions neuroscientists ask and the research methods they use to try to answer them.

Motor:You will test your motor skills and find out what brain activities lie behind them.

Your brain accounts for 2% of your mass, but uses 25% of your oxygen and energy.Your brain can generate about 25 watts of power at any given time. It could power a light bulb.

Do you have what it takes to be a Brain Surgeon?

Experience an interactive theatrical adventure including role-playing, video clips of actual surgery and information from real cases. Visit the TECH ZONE and talk with exhibitors on all 4 floors of the CSC.

Talk with Career Professionals in a cafe setting while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate

The patient is seriously ill. You have to find out what is wrong and fix it!

But don't worry… you won't have to do it alone. Real doctors and other medical professionals will guide you from "diagnosis through surgery." This interactive theatrical adventure includes role-playing, video clips of actual surgery and information from real cases. Along the way, there is light-hearted fun. After all, laughter is the best medicine!

In this program, you will learn about the careers of real medical professionals including the LifeFlight program team, surgeons, anesthetists, diagnostic technicians, surgical nurses, medical equipment designers and more.Also, find out what IT, Nanotechnology and Robotics have to do with curing patients today.

Check out dazzling science demos, enjoy café-style beverages, and engage in a fast-paced networking sessions with professionals in a wide range of STEM related careers. Student groups of 5-6 will meet with seven dynamic professionals in this informal setting to explore careers in IT/robotics, advanced materials, chemistry/nanotechnology. biotechnology/health/biology, and energy and the environment

Shakespearean Monologue Scene Participants:Pittsburgh Public Theater Actors are coming to work with you at NASH on Friday, January 30th. You will take a shuttle.

The contest is Monday, February 9th!

Stop by the GOAL office and sign up for a lunch rehearsal with Miss Stackhouse any time you would like to have one AFTER your Actors Session.
