The world’s eco-nomic centres are currently bus-tling with activity. Developments are changing almost on a daily basis, result-ing in new trends and verve. The general trend is gradually

moving upwards again. The crisis in southern Europe seems to have finally passed. New opportunities are opening up and all eyes are on the future.

In the light of this, we would like to take action. We are optimistic about the future and want to seize existing and upcoming opportunities. We have recognised the signs of the times with our CombiMAX for example. The flexibility of the modu-lar system to fulfil individual customer needs is unique. In addition, it has been awarded two official prizes (the ‘IAA Trailer Innovation Award 2015’ and ‘The Heavies – Innovation of the year 2015’).

We are also setting trends in the North American market with two new inno-vative products. Our technology sets standards and is perfectly compatible with local regulations. Pendular axle vehicles as well as the revolutionary ‘lift and shift’ principle will change the heavy transport sector in North America. We are ambitiously tackling a new challenge in the ‘land of unlimited opportunities’ with our HighwayMAX and DualMAX.

Thanks to our technical expertise and sophisticated vehicle development, we are constantly striving to set new mile-stones in the trailer market. Further developments of existing series will also remain a priority.

Together, we plan to grasp the opportu-nities that present themselves and look into the future with confidence.

The trailer manufacturer is taking on a new challenge in North America. It is part of the company’s DNA to tackle such under-takings with determination and motivation. “We want to be the market leader here. This task involves bringing our concepts to this new market area. Fortunately, they are perfectly suited to the requirements of the North American transport sector”, declares an enthusiastic Paul Hönen, leader of this ambitious project. The “American Dream” is very real for Faymonville. The two products are called HighwayMAX and DualMAX, which will cause an immediate sen-sation in North America. The HighwayMAX is an extendable on-road heavy haul trailer with nine hydraulically steered pendular axles and a technical payload of 260,000 lbs. It is com-patible with the regulations in the USA and Canada, allowing a maximum payload due to its adapted dimensions. “With its pendular axles and torsionally rigid frame, the HighwayMAX is unique in North

America” says Paul Hönen, while emphasis-ing the pioneering role of Faymonville with this trailer. The extremely high demand for this new commodity in the USA and Canada highlights its innovative character. Nine-axle heavy haul Faymonville trailers are being used from Massachusetts to Ohio all the way to Wyoming.Earlier this year, Faymonville attracted atten-tion when it acquired the complete US patent rights for Dual Lane multi-axle transport vehicles, also known as “897 Patent”. With the DualMAX, the manufacturer also developed its own vehicle type for this product division. Here too, Faymonville sets standards and

The “lift and shift system” has the advantage that the chassis can be extended in width from 16 to 20 feet, even when loaded. Unlike other vehicles, the steering system can be left as is and does not need to be dismantled. “The DualMAX can thus be adjusted to changing conditions quickly and safely”, declares Paul Hönen. Faymonville succeeded in shaking up the transport sector in North America with these two trailers. This is due to the sophisticated technology and practical user-oriented developments, which is the manufacturer’s

Brazilian company Santin convinced by the variety of combinations

Increased area of business thanks to CombiMAX

The dynamic crane business, with its head-quarters in the state of Sao Paulo, developed its original activities at the same time as the booming wind energy sector. Several turbines, rotor blades and tower segments have been erected in recent years by Santin Equipamentos and Faymonville served as a reliable partner in this undertaking.

Transport solutions for the wind industry

Santin Equipamentos has relied on the leading technical know-how of the Belgian manufacturer for years. Twenty-four TeleMAX platform trailers were delivered in one go to the Sugarloaf Mountain a year ago as well as two BrazilMAX, which meet the country’s spe-cific regulations. Trailers with a maximum of six axles and eight wheels are permitted to carry an axle load of 16 tonnes, therefore the BrazilMAX can take on a payload of almost 100 tonnes.“After this positive experience, it seemed nat-ural that cooperation could be stepped up a

notch. Since Santin Equipamentos also aims to enter into and cover the transport sector”, which, according to Paul Hönen, Sales Manager for Brazil, is the perfect solution for meeting customer demand.

Add-On-Beam as a trump card

The CombiMAX combination in question con-sists of one 2-axle bogie, two 4-axle bogies and one 6-axle bogie. “This, together with the revolutionary Add-On Beam, an exten-sion beam that gives the vehicle unmatched flexibility through variable telescoping is a particular advantage”, Paul Hönen points out.

Unlike conventional modular trailers, addi-tional possibilities can be created for long loads with the CombiMAX elements. Heavy or over-sized components can be transported in a unique way by the CombiMAX due to the variety of combinations. The CombiMAX sets new standards and this unique concept is fittingly titled “excellent combinability”. Not surprisingly, it won IAA’s ‘Trailer Innovation Award 2015’ in the section ‘Concept’. Furthermore, the national trans-port association in the UK recently voted the CombiMAX “Innovation of the year”. A two-fold official confirmation that clearly confirms recent feedback from customers.

No wonder then that CEO Fernando Santin is convinced by the whole CombiMAX line. Thanks to its flexibility and functionality the targets of the Brazilian company can easily be achieved.

Entirely new opportunities have opened up for Santin Equipamentos thanks to the CombiMAX and its flexibility.

The CombiMAX principle caused a stir in the transport sector and has now been adopted by several customers. It recently opened up completely new possibilities for Santin Equipamentos from Brazil.

Faymonville establishing itself in Saudi Arabia Thanks to intensive human relations work pursued over the past few years, Faymonville has been able to find its place in the heavy and special transport sector on the Arabian Peninsula. This position is now being further reinforced with a number of large-scale projects.

At the top of the list is the contract concluded between the Belgian producer and Fahad S. Al-Tamimi & Partners Trading Co., whose headquarters is located in Ras Tanura on the Persian Gulf. The volume of this first order immediately included five 9-axle MultiMAX low loaders as well as 32 modular axle lines from the G-SL segment.This major sale could be concluded thanks to the efforts of Julian Thelen, the con-tact person for the Middle East and African

markets. Through regular discussions with Fahad S. Al-Tamimi, he could explain to the Saudi customer the advantages offered by the technological and top-quality semi-trailers from Belgium. A visit to the factory in Büllingen encouraged the crane contractor to put his trust in Faymonville. He was impressed by the extremely modern production sites, which are unequalled in the sector.„Fahad S. Al-Tamimi is one of the largest crane companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

and works primarily for the leading compa-nies in the chemical, metal and raw material extraction sectors. And our vehicles open up countless possibilities for the transport chal-lenges that arise here”, says Julian Thelen about the decisive flexibility of the products.

Extensive use possibilities

The MultiMAX low loaders are the definition of versatility. Building on 19.5“ tyres with hydraulic suspension, the loading surfaces of the company´s (typically yellow-painted) vehicles are telescopable up to 25 metres. Moreover, they are equipped with ramps that make it easy for mobile cranes and other machinery to be loaded from behind. Fahad S. Al-Tamimi also ordered the G-SL module lines with extensive accessories that make versatile use possible.And the Saudis have a clear idea of how the new Faymonville fleet should be used. As Thelen explains its customer´s ambitions: „Along with transporting its own equipment to its respective construction sites, Fahad S. Al-Tamimi would also like to offer its services to outside firms.” In Saudi Arabia, the trans-port sector is one of the business sectors offering the greatest growth possibilities.

Sustained transport boom

The five delivered low loaders as well as the modular axle lines open up numerous possi-bilities for this. Because the industrial activity and the always booming oil and gas business on the Arabian Peninsula will - despite the temporary drop in oil prices on the world markets - also assure a great deal of work in the future.In this dynamic framework, the agreement with Fahad S. Al-Tamimi can certainly be characterised as a major step forward for Faymonville in this country and region. The producer is determined to establish itself on the Arabian Peninsula for the long term.

MAX Trailer presents its low-bed trailerIt is a unique success story: since their introduction in 2012, the MAX Trailer products have been able to earn themselves a solid place in the international semi-trailer sector. Effective immediately, a low-bed vehicle is part of the range now as well.

Premium quality as a standard! In short, that s what is behind the MAX Trailer concept. „Standardised vehicles with simple accesso-ries, but satisfying only the highest quality claims.” That’s the way Mario Faymonville puts it – and he should know, since he´s in charge of the brand within the Faymonville group. And this fresh idea was literally embraced by the sector. „Over the course of time, MAX Trailer has experienced a rapid

And as a consequence, the producer also presented its latest product: the MAX510 low-bed trailer! In this segment MAX Trailer is breaking new ground, yet the engineers immediately went on to develop an extra class vehicle. One with the usual top quality in terms of production processes and material selection. The stan-dard low-bed trailer built on two axles far surpasses those of other suppliers thanks to these outstanding points. In a few more months the MAX510 should also be configu-rable as a 3-axle.

Low-bed trailer expands the offer

„This new vehicle type within the product line opens up even more possibilities for the over 30 internationally active MAX Trailer market-ing partners. The low-bed trailer expands and completes the current product family.” For Mario Faymonville, the development of MAX Trailer is moving forward in an alto-gether logical manner. In the meantime, the brand is ideally anchored and recognised in heavy and special transport world. The showpiece is the MAX100, a 3 to 5-axle semi-low loader, which is also available

as an extendable variant or with ramps. This vehicle is ideal for special transport in the areas of industry, construction and public works. The MAX200 model is a 3-axle flatbed semi-trailer (also available with extension); by contrast, the MAX300 is a trailer with 3 central axles and ramps. The MAX400, finally, is a 4-axle flatbed semi-trailer specialised in the transport of crane parts and counter weights. The demand for a low-bed trailer was high, so at MAX Trailer, people are satisfied to now also be able to take on the transport market in this segment. The still very recent past has proven that the concept could impose itself sustainably and with the MAX510 the producer will have struck a chord as well.

TimberMAX series has received an overhaul

Make-over for a long-established designThanks to its location in a densely-wooded region, Faymonville has always naturally focused on the specialised task of trans-porting the raw material wood between forest and processing plant. TimberMAX is the name of the its product for this job, and its entire structure has recently been redesigned.

The Faymonville TimberMAX semi-trailer is intended for transporting logs or lumber. In forested regions wood is a vital economic factor, and it is precisely in such areas that these vehicles are called on for use. The active wood industry close to home has in the meantime developed into a smaller indus-trial branch. Yet in many other countries and regions it is still one of the driving economic forces, and there the TimberMAX offers the ideal transport solution.

Four basic products form the framework

„This long-established product was reviewed from top to bottom and adapted in accordance with the new standards and requirements. After this developmental process, four basic products now make up the TimberMAX series“, explains Mario Balter who, as sales manager for the wood sector, closely accompanied the development of the various innovations.

The traditional variant of the TimberMAX has always been the 2-axle semi-trailer, which in addition to short-cut wood (3 to 5 piles of 2-6 metres) can also handle uncut timber up to a length of 21 metres. Parallel to this there is now a light version of this series type, which has been expressly designed to optimise its weight. This variant too can carry both short-cut wood and uncut logs, here however with a maximum length of 16 metres. In its retracted state, the compact TimberMAX also proves to be highly manoeuvrable and suitable for driving off-road on difficult terrains.

Variant diversity fulfils all requirements

The impulse for the product revitalisation that has now been carried out was also given by the currently high demand on the French market. Ideal for use there are the two 3-axle versions of the TimberMAX semi-trailer: force-steered or after-steered, in either case with or with-out crane. They are designed with three axles because in France the maximum authorised payload is 56 tonnes. And the 3-axle versions

Event in Paris became a veritable sales fair

Faymonville enjoys a brilliant week at INTERMAT

And all those who were interested were clearly impressed by the variety of products on display and the technologically unique know-how. Faymonville was the sole pro-ducer who could present such an extensive and appropriate offer. Marketing manager Arnold Luxen’s summary was glowingly positive: „The resonance was excellent, and the result - in the form of con-crete orders – overwhelming.“ Deals in the high seven figures could even be signed and sealed at the trade fair itself. For Faymonville, INTERMAT turned out to be a veritable sales fair, and this once again reflects its strong competitive position.

The market leader set the standard

In France, Faymonville is assuming the lead-ing market position. Everybody’s using the company´s own motto „Trailers to the MAX“, as became clear once again at INTERMAT. An unending stream of interested people showed

up in order to hold technical discussions about the various products in the mobile show truck, the ideal setting. The award-winning COMBIMAX concept was also widely talked about in Paris. A 3+7 com-bination drew attention and it highlighted this principle’s impressive flexibility and func-tionality. Faithful to the motto: „Define your transport assignment - configure the vehicle solution!“

The world premiere of the EXTENDING PrefaMAX

„We were also the only one in the sector that could dish up a world premiere. The PrefaMAX for the transport of concrete prefabricated parts was present at our stand in its extending version. An absolute global innovation and technically a novelty!“, reported Arnold Luxen about this impressive further development.

More than a few experts were (justifiably) astonished, because with the loading plat-form extendable by 4,000 mm (to a total of 13,500 mm) the PrefaMAX can solve even the trickiest transport challenges. Many visitors also posed questions about the flexible MultiMAX low loaders - a real power package for use on construction sites and grounds! The hydraulic loading platform extension proved to be an eye-catcher and their advantages are obvious: maximum safety, easy operation, top comfort and clear time savings when loading and unloading. INTERMAT made it clear once again: if you re interested in top technological standards and tailor-made transport solutions, all roads lead to Faymonville.

INTERMAT in Paris this year turned into a genuine sales fair for Faymonville.

In retrospect, the international trade fair INTERMAT in Paris proved to be one of the absolute highlights of the year for Faymonville. Countless peo-ple from throughout the world paid a visit to the imposing and inviting stand.

trailers and TeleMAX flatbed semi-trailers onto the Finnish roads. If necessary, he can also have the country-specific axle distances of 1,360 mm, 1,510 mm or 1,810 mm integrated into these vehicle types. Together with Faymonville, over the years they have succeeded in establishing the Belgian producer as the national number one in semi-trailers for heavy and special transport. Through it all, the good relationship with the customers has been constantly cultivated. Together with father Reijo, Pekka Roponen will therefore be present at the Powertruck Show in Härmä (07.-08.08.2015) with a CombiMAX combination. In the future Faymonville will continue to form a well-established part of the day-to-day work of Pekka Roponen.

NETWORK TO THE MAX

A relationship that has lasted more than 20 years

Faymonville is an integral part of day-to-day life at RoponenFinland is known for its unique landscapes and the phlegmatic spirit of its inhabitants. Calmness is also a characteristic of Pekka Roponen, whose family company has distributed Faymonville semi-trailers in the land of a thousand lakes for over two decades.

As a one-man company, Pekka Roponen is the contact person for every aspect of his company, which is established in the eastern Finnish city of Kuopio. Car Office Roponen is amongst the country´s most firmly estab-lished names in the purchase and sale of new and used tractor units and semi-trailers. It

is an official dealer for Faymonville and MAX Trailer products, which also represents its core activity. Father Reijo Roponen already made the first contacts with Alain Faymonville, and the cooperation that was entered into in 1995 continues to this day - only now under the direction of son Pekka.

Always in the interest of the customer

The company manager is very popular amongst his clientele, in part because he so often provides far more than the usual ser-vice. „Car Office Roponen is highly appreciated by the Finnish transport customers, since he has an open ear for all wishes and he finds solutions”, notes Manuela Rauw, contact person for the Faymonville dealers, about her marketing partner from the far north. For example, Pekka Roponen always strives to quickly organise assistance whenever nec-essary. The workshop located right next door to his headquarters often proves to be a god-send in an emergency, when maintenance or a repair needs to be done right away.

Becoming the market leader thanks to product knowledge

Roponen knows the product lines of Faymonville and MAX Trailer inside out, and this technical knowledge opens many pos-sibilities for him. The transport customers feel that they are understood and are receiv-ing good advice. He has put large numbers of MultiMAX low loaders, MegaMAX low-bed

Palfinger transforms from supplier into partner

A cooperation agreement was recently concluded with the globally active crane manufacturer Palfinger and its importer for France (Palfinger France) under which effective immediately their distribution and service support points will also be offering the Faymonville vehicles designed for timber transport. For short wood and logs transport, the Belgian producer’s programme contains the ideal solution. The cranes mounted on these vehicles are of the Epsilon brand, which has formed part of the Palfinger portfolio for over 25 years. Mario Balter, wood sector sales manager at Faymonville, describes the scope of the coop-eration this way: „With the Epsilon cranes, Faymonville has since 2010 selected a robust product that provides the necessary quality and flexibility. Palfinger France will offer everything Faymonville has in our product family for this sector, from the crane to the entire wood semi-trailer.“ Thanks to the cooperation agreement that has been concluded, and building on the experi-ence that has been amassed up to the present, it will be possible to optimally meet the rising

Thanks to numerous projects in the areas of infrastructure and industry, the number of special and exceptional transports in Israel has increased sharply in recent years. The company Hatnua - Emek-Hefer is one of the leading specialists in this field. On the European level, the STL Speziallogistik - thanks to its modern fleet, together with the hydraulic tilt trailer - is one of the experts in the transport of large-volume industrial goods. The Haiger (Hessen)-based company buys such special vehi-cles from Faymonville (amongst others). A brand-new TeleMAX flatbed semi-trailer recently expanded the inclined loader vehi-cle fleet. The STL Speziallogistik purchased a total of five new semi-trailers from the Belgian manufacturer within the space of one year. These vehicles make it possible to safely transport steel coils, boiler bottoms or machine parts, for example, and horizontal loading can be done as well. The transition into the driving position is then accomplished hydraulically. In this way a maximum loading height is achieved while at the same time minimising the width.

The two market leaders in the rental business, Collé Rental & Sales and Boels Rental, both have their registered office in the Dutch town of Sittard, where the companies are virtual neighbours located on the same street: Nusterweg. Collé is the specialist in the field of rental, sale and service of machinery for construction, industry, earth-moving or cleaning. Boels Rental is one of the most renowned companies in the sector of machin-ery, tool and unit rental as well as the rental of catering and event equipment in Europe. And yet another striking similarity:

for transporting its equipment, both companies rely on 3-axle semi-low loaders from Faymonville. No fewer than ten of these MultiMAX´s could recently be delivered to Collé, while Boels expanded its existing fleet with two additional semi-trailers of this type. Their special feature is the hydraulic platform that can be lifted and lowered. Thus the gooseneck can also be optimally loaded with work platforms or earth-moving machines.
