Capital spend must stack up…

Payback period– This is the length of time that the capital cost of a project

is recouped by the saving in expenditure by that project– E.g. total cost £10,000– Annual saving = £2,000– Payback = 10,000 / 2,000 = 5 years– This doesn’t account for other savings, such as increased

productivity or decreased maintenance

And include other considerations e.g. capitalequipment cost; delivery; installation; buildingalterations; staff training; decommissioning; disposal
