GNYHA SIT STAT
SYSTEM OVERVIEW June 2015
Why we are building this system?
• During emergencies, GNYHA is often asked to collect critical data from members.
• This system will allow GNYHA to collect more meaningful information in a more efficient manner.
Iterative process
• GNYHA made an initial 3-year commitment to the Sit Stat System.
• Plan is to have the system built, deployed, and tested by Fall 2015, with improvements made during later projects phases.
One piece of a larger context
• GNYHA is not seeking to build the situational awareness system for the area but rather to fulfill its responsibilities better and in doing so improve system-wide situational awareness.
• GNYHA will ensure that this complements and integrates with existing city and State systems.
•Members will still be required to provide data via the NYS DOH HERDS system
Project Rationale and Context 2
1.Data Collection: Pre-developed surveys will be disseminated throughout an event
2.Data Provision: Pre-developed dashboards and reports will aggregate hospital data
All can be modified at the onset of an emergency event!
GNYHA Sit Stat System - Two complementary pieces 3
Data collection from hospitals
• Hospitals log in to a web-based survey
• Two unique IDs per hospital; can configure one ID with “review” rights
• Each hospital will have access to a PDF summary report
• System leads will have access to all facility summary reports and a system-level summary report
Data provision to government agencies
• Appropriate agencies view reports and dashboards containing aggregate information
Hospitals complete profile survey annually (static information)
System is triggered by event
Affected hospitals complete response survey
Data is submitted to GNYHA and agencies

RESPONSE SURVEY Completed by hospitals in affected areas
Based on event, response survey will be deployed to hospitals in appropriate areas
All hospitals will be asked to complete General Information and Incident status pages
Based on answers provided, hospitals will complete additional follow-up sections

□Sit Stat will support the following report types:
□ Facility level report – summarizes all data provided by a single
facility
□ Hospital system-level report – summarizes and aggregates key
data from all facilities within a hospital system
□ Agency report – summarizes and aggregates key data from all
facilities in a particular jurisdictional area
Reports 40
□Will visually display key data points of interest
□ Available to GNYHA, agency response partners
