It is written with live coals in the Book of Life that anyone who achieves the total elimination of the Ego can change his or her astrological sign and its influences at will. In the name of Truth, I have to state that That One who is within me has changed his sign at will. The sign of my ex-personality was Pisces, but now I am an Aquarian, and Aquarius is a tremendously revolutionary sign.

We cannot deny the existence of astrological influences and the fact that they control us as long as we have not carried out a psychological revolution in us. However, in this path, any student who aspires to Enlightenment must begin by revolutionizing himself or herself against what horoscopes establish. It is completely absurd to think that one sign is not compatible with another sign, because it is the egos, the 'I's, those undesirable elements within us, the ones that are not compatible.

The type of Astrology common in these 'end times' is of no use at all because its only motivation is to make money. The true Astrology of the Chaldean sages has been now forgotten.

Machine-people do not want to change, because they say, 'That is my sign.' 'That is my zodiacal influence,' etc. I will never get tired of stressing the point that the important thing is to change emotionally and mentally. We need to change mentally so that the real zodiacal forces, which emanate from the Being, from the Milky Way, can come into us and manifest themselves in us. Those forces will give us a Permanent Centre of Gravity.

Light is not to be sought in horoscopes. Light comes forth when we have eliminated from ourselves our Personal Characteristic Psychological Feature, and when we have created a new 'wineskin' (mind), to pour into it the teachings of Psycho-Astrology, which I have taught in my work 'Zodiacal Course'.




The Being and our Divine Mother are the only ones who can emancipate us from cheap newspaper and magazine horoscopes, thus giving us an integral education. We have to shake off our dust of centuries and eliminate from ourselves all our stale habits and beliefs, and move out of astrological fanaticism, which makes us say sentences like this: 'That is my zodiacal influence, and there is nothing I can do.' This really subjective way of thinking is just a sophism of distraction of the Ego.'

In the Latin world, there is a widespread belief that the names of the days of the week correspond (except in Portugal and in Brazil) to the two luminaries of the sky plus the five planets known since the most remote antiquity:

But this belief is only partially correct. Dies Jovis, for example, was not dedicated to the planet Jupiter, but to the Roman god Jupiter, of whom the planet is a symbol. The same happens with the remaining six days, as can be seen more clearly in the Anglo-Saxon day names:

Sun and Moon are the two main luminaries. Tiw is the Anglo-Saxon equivalent of the Nordic god Tyr, son of Odin and god of war, just as Mars is in Rome and Ares is in Greece. Woden is Odin (Mercury in Rome and Hermes in Greece). Thor is the Nordic god of the thunderbolt (Jupiter in Rome and Zeus in Greece). Frigg (or Freyja), Odin’s wife, is the Nordic goddess of love (Venus in Rome and Aphrodite in Greece).

Of course, Tiw, Woden, Thor and Frigg have their respective astral correspondences, in the same way as, for example, in the Nahuatl tradition, Quetzalcoatl is associated to Venus, Xolotl to Mercury, Tlaloc to Mars, Tezcatlipoca to Jupiter and Xiuhtecuhtli to Saturn. The Anglo-Saxon languages, however, adopted the Latin names for the planets while retaining the names of their own gods for the days of the week.

Be that as it might, it is clear that the days of the week do not allude to the heavenly bodies only in their character of physical entities. To regard them as merely physical entities reveals a confusion that, though very old, has been firmly established in the modern and contemporaneous mentality, both among Latin and Anglo-Saxon people.

This confusion stems from the gradual abandonment of traditional wisdom, which teaches us to see the heavenly bodies as symbols of the Heavenly Powers, that is, as living entities that participate in our own lives, and not as mere inert masses. The arbitrary and completely unscientific split between Astronomy and Astrology has been and is a source of all kinds of misunderstandings.

An striking fact: Any child with primary instruction knows that the order in which the heavenly bodies appear in the week does not have the slightest relationship with their physical order, since, starting from the Sun, the order is:




Mercury, Venus, (Moon), Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

Why, then, do we follow the order that we have now? What is the true order? The ancient Chaldean Astronomy put forward a specific planetary arrangement, which was adopted by the Greek sages, and which is the basis of Esoteric Astrology.

Earth – Moon-Mercury-Venus-Sun-Mars-Jupiter-Saturn - Stars (Contellations)

‘Saturn is the most distant planet from the Earth in the Solar System. The Moon is the closest satellite to the Earth. Mercury is next in order of distance; then comes Venus, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. This natural and cosmic order is the basis of the ancient arrangement of the days of the week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The Roman Catholics adulterated the legitimate calendar based on the above planetary order and, on the basis of that falsification, the modernist arithmetic Astrology has been created. So, it is not surprising that, since modern Astrology stands on false foundations, it is a real failure. Now it falls to us to restore the genuine Ancient Astrology; that is why it is necessary, and even really urgent, for us to return to the legitimate Archaic Calendar.

In his book Zodiacal Course, Master Samael tells us the following:

As we enter on the study of Esoteric Astrology, I must give you some preliminary information meant as a positive foundation for these classes.

In the stellar nucleus of every sidereal sun, planet, lunar satellite or comet, there is always a heart-temple, which is the sacred abode of a Sidereal Genie. Consequently, the whole Infinite is a system of hearts, and that is why Esoteric Astrology is the Religion of the Light and of the Heart.




Each one of our planets has its own Sidereal Ruler:

Gabriel is the Ruler of the MoonRaphael is the Ruler of Mercury Uriel is the Ruler of Venus Michael is the Ruler of the Sun Samael is the Ruler of Mars Zachariel is the Ruler of Jupiter Oriphiel is the Ruler of Saturn

These are the Seven Spirits before the Throne of God. As we said above, each one of them dwells in a heart-temple, and for this reason Esoteric Astrology is the Religion of Light and of Love.

These are the Seven Angels who share the government of the world among themselves in seven different periods of time, for the whole history of the world can be summed up in seven periods of time. The seven planets are the strings of a divine lyre, in which the word of the Creator sounds with its most ineffable melody.

The whole Solar System is the heavenly body of a Great Being: the Logos of the Solar System, the Ineffable One. The Solar System, when seen from afar, looks like a man walking through the ineffable Infinite. The Seven Spirits before the Throne are, as it were, his Ministers and the Rectors of the cosmic evolution of this Solar System.

Now, you know that every wheel has its axle. And for that reason you will understand that in the centre of every mass lies the basis of movement. A mass can only be controlled from its centre, and the centre of any mass is the Spirit. That is why we assert that in every sidereal centre there is a Heart-Temple, which is the abode of the Genie of the star. These Heavenly Genii are precisely the real governors of the Infinite, as well as the rulers and lords of our own human destinies.

Profane astrologers will tell you, for example, that a quadrature of Saturn with Mars brings a catastrophe, or that an opposition of Venus and Mars brings a disappointment in love, and so on. But those forecasts of profane astrology may fail, even if the mathematical calculations are correct, because the Sidereal Forces are not blind forces.

Those Forces are precisely the Rays of the Planetary Genii, and these Lords can change all human events, even if a person's horoscope is full of quadratures and oppositions. So, Arithmetic Astrology is not exact. That is the reason why I consider that no one can be a real Astrologer without being a Theurgist-Alchemist. Iamblichus, the great Theurgist, invoked the Planetary Genii, and materialized them in the physical world to talk to them, and it was through them that he could perform his great wonders.

Theurgy, or Divine Magic, can only be performed through the Theurgist's Intimate, and the Intimate is our Spirit (our Real Being)... It is also very true that Nature is a great alchemical laboratory, in which there are essences, and all kinds of events are combined.

In the Schools of Inner Instruction, we are taught these golden rules:

'The Lion of the Law is fought with the Scales'.

'When a lower law is transcended by a higher law, the higher law wipes out the lower law'.

An absolute understanding of these two golden rules allows us to destroy any disastrous effect produced by any quadrature or opposition on our personal horoscope. This means that through these golden rules we can cancel Karma and succeed in life. Engrave these two golden rules on your mind well, because I will teach you how to use their formulas in coming lessons.

This course in Esoteric Astrology will turn you into Theurgists and Alchemists, and will develop all your occult powers. Then you will learn how to make yourself invisible, how to invoke and materialize the Planetary Gods in the physical world to talk to them, how to cancel Karma, and the secret art of succeeding in life through certain mysterious formulas which will allow you to use the sidereal rays for your own ends, and to help others.




Now, to conclude this preamble to our present lesson, I will tell you that at the portico of every Sidereal Temple there are two pillars: a white pillar and a black one. The pillar on the right is called 'Jachin', and the one on the left is called 'Boaz'.

You must also know, good disciple, that next to either pillar there is a Guardian. The Guardian at the right pillar holds the Rod of Justice in his hands, and the one at the left pillar holds a Book in his hands. Jachin and Boaz are the two passwords which will allow you to enter the Heart-Temple of every star, to direct sidereal rays and to produce events in the physical world.

The Planetary Hours, as they appear in astrological annuals and in texts of astrology in general, are false and absurd, because the calendar in vogue is false and absurd, and because no archaic people ever used the much-talked-about and curious planetary hours of modern astrologers.

The ancient sages regarded the day as a cross within a perfect circle. Those old star-gazers, with their scrutinizing eyes, penetrated deeply into the mysteries of the stars, and received enlightenment from the Planetary Gods.




Those old astrologers learnt from the Gods that the day is divided into four parts, like a cross within a perfect circle. They learnt that the day is only ruled by four planets, according to the following old planetary order: Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

The first quarter of the day is ruled by the planet of the day which bears its name (Saturn, in this example), and the second, third and fourth quarters of the day are in turn ruled by specific planets, following the planetary order of Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

Therefore, the twelve hours of the day are divided into four parts, each comprising three hours. (Here it refers to daytime, from sunrise to sunset).

In the diagram below, the first three hours of the day are ruled by Saturn (the planet of the day). Next come Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and finally the circle is completed by Saturn, because it is the planet of the day.

In this way, the twenty-four hours of the day are divided into eight parts, each comprising three hours. The student then knows the hours in which he or she can work astrologically with a specific Planetary Logos at any time throughout the day.

This simple, easy and fast system allows us to exactly know what planet is ruling at a given moment. This was the system which the great ancient Astrologers knew. They learnt it from the Sidereal Gods.

Here we do not need the conventional calculations of arithmetic astrologers. Here the only thing that is required is a little practice and good sense to know sidereal time.




Anyone can learn this simple and sublime system, since here we do not need to make complicated calculations or resort to logarithms or tables of houses or bulky astrological ephemerides, nor do we need the complicated jargon of the pseudo-savants of arithmetic astrology.

A new progeny of astrologers, the enlightened ones of the New Age, has now been born. We, the paladins of Aquarius, no longer need arithmetic horoscopes. Now we talk to the Gods, in order to know the destinies of men.

Shake the dust out of your heads, old teachers of astrology, because the first chimes of Aquarius have already rung out, singing of Easter. Leave us alone, arithmetic astrologers. We have got tired of your mistakes. Burn all that jargon of logarithms, ephemerides, tables of houses, etc.

Now we are only interested in the paladins of the New Age, in enlightened astrologers capable of talking to the Sidereal Gods. We got fed up with so much theory, and we are getting to the point, to what is effective, to what is real. We do not want more blind astrologers, leaning on the crutches of numbers. Now we are only interested in the clairvoyants of the stars, in the priests of the Sidereal Temples, in the wise men of Aquarius.

In order to work with the Stars, the practitioner shall choose the right hours. In the hours of the Moon, he can work with the Moon (Gabriel). In the hours of Mercury, he can work with Mercury (Raphael), and so on.

As Master Samael explains, the practitioner will choose the day of the week in which the Planetary Logos he is going to work with rules (further down you will find a summary of subjects or areas covered by each one of the planets). For example, the Logos Raphael, Ruler of the Planet Mercury, is the right one to work with in matters related to health, illnesses and healing in general. In this case, the practitioner will choose Mercury’s day, which is present-day Monday and, in the course of the twenty-four hours of that day, he can carry out the astrological work with Raphael.

Let us imagine, however, that we urgently need to work with the Logos Raphael on any other day apart from the one in which he rules. In that case, by using the astrological dial we have just taught about, we have to look for the three hours in which Raphael rules on that day.

For example, let us suppose that it is Moon's day (present-day Sunday). On the astrological dial of that day we can see that the sector in which the Logos Raphael is active (the sector of Mercury) is the second sector after that of the Moon. So it is the




second division of the day, from mid-morning to midday. That is the specific period of time in which we can work with the Logos Raphael. (See below the diagram of the astrological dial of the Moon).

This is how we can operate with the Planetary Logoses. Below you can see the diagrams containing the astrological dials of the seven days of the week, according to the real planetary order of Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

(A note on hours: Astrological hours are not the same as conventional hours. To calculate astrological hours for daytime, it is necessary to divide the period between sunrise and sunset into twelve. To calculate astrological hours for night-time, we have to divide the period between sunset and next day's sunrise into twelve.

Note that astrological hours have exactly the same duration – in daytime and night-time – only on the equinoxes (approximately on 21 March and 22 September), and vary the rest of the year).

Now we will give you a simple practice to work with the Planetary Logoses. In the next Unit, we will teach another method, a deeper one, related to High Theurgy.

Sit comfortably in an armchair, concentrate your mind on your Intimate, and pray to him, saying:

'My Father, you who are my real Being, I beg of you to go to the Heart-Temple of the planet...' (Here utter the name of the planet you are working with).

Then cross your arms on your chest (the right arm on the left), bow to and salute the Guardian on the Right Pillar while pronouncing the password 'Jachin', after you deeply breathe in. Next, do the same with the Guardian on the Left Pillar, pronouncing the password 'Boaz'.

Then pray again to your Intimate, saying, 'My Father, take the seven sacred steps into the interior of the temple, and kneel at the feet of the Logos...' (Here utter the name of the Logos of the planet you are working with).

Then request of the Planetary Logos, before whom you are, the longed-for service: whether it is connected with healing or protection or guide, enlightenment, strength, love, travelling, business, etc.

Then cry out several times, asking for: 'CORO! CORO! CORO! (Choir! Choir! Choir!).

The Planetary Logos will then send Choirs of Angels to work with you, to dominate and to conquer... And the Angels will work, but in accordance with the Law...

That is how we can work with the Rays of the Stars. That is how we can solve our personal problems.

It is good that the disciple learns to visit his Father in his astral body, so that he can receive direct teachings from his Father who is in Heaven.

As the Stellar Rays fall on our Earth, they produce colours, sounds, and Metallic Elementals, which condense into metals; Metallic Elementals, which turn into Vegetable Elementals as they evolve; Vegetable Elementals, which turn into Animal Elementals; and Animal Elementals which are finally awakened by their Divine Sparks to first incarnate them in men, and Men who become Angels to come back to their Fathers who engendered them.

All this descending and ascending of the Virginal Sparks through this peregrination of matter is symbolized by the ladder of Jacob’s dream.

What is Iron? It is the soul of ‘Samael-Mars’ evolving in it. What is Copper? It is the soul of ‘Uriel-Venus’ evolving in it. What is Lead? The soul of ‘Oriphiel-Saturn’ evolving in it. What is Gold? The soul of ‘Michael-The Sun’ evolving in it. What is Silver? The soul of ‘Gabriel-The Moon’ evolving in it. What is Tin? The soul of ‘Zachariel-Jupiter’ evolving in it.

And all this ebb and flow of life sounds in the whole of nature with the Chinese 'gong'.

When the Cosmic Night comes, all the Sparks return to their Fathers, turned into Flames, and their Fathers, in turn, return to the Unmanifested Logos, and plunge into the limitless bliss of the Absolute, where there is no tears or pain; where we are all ‘one’; where we are all the 'Godhead', the ‘Nameless One’, ‘That’, ‘That’, ‘That’. This ebb and flow of life is solidly confirmed in the Vedas, which are the oldest holy scriptures, for Vedanta philosophy goes back to many thousand years before Jesus Christ. This is the old Law of the Pendulum.

In the history of humanity there have been real ‘stellar moments’, in which the Sidereal Father of a great genius has been able to speak and express Himself through him, in order to initiate new cycles of spiritual culture.




I, Aun Weor, am only the son and the instrument of Samael-Mars, and what I am teaching you is the Wisdom of my Father.

Every one of us has his spiritual and astral inheritance from his Father who is in Heaven.

All man's mental, emotional, psychic and spiritual faculties are influenced by the occult properties of the scale of causes coming from the Hierarchies of the Planetary Genii, and not by the physical planets. Because of this, we say once again that we, real astrologers, are not interested in arithmetic Astrology.

The Solar System unfolds in the womb of the Zodiac, and the Twenty-Four Elders and their Twelve Zodiacal Hierarchies work from this Solar System through their Planetary Rays.

These Twenty-Four Elders have their sacred names, and each one of the Twelve Zodiacal Constellations is ruled by two Elders, thus:

Aries: Sataaran and Sarahiel. Taurus: Bagdad and Araziel. Gemini: Sagras and Saraiel, Cancer: Ramdhar and Phakiel. Leo: Sagham and Seratiel, Virgo: Iadara and Schaltiel. Libra: Grasgarben and Hadakiel. Scorpio: Richol and Saissaiel. Sagittarius: Vhcri and Saritaiel. Capricorn: Sagdalon and Semakiel. Aquarius: Archer and Sakmakrel. Pisces: Rasamasa and Vacabiel.




These are the Twenty-Four Elders who rule the Twelve Zodiacal Constellations. And during your zodiacal practices (as given in the book Zodiacal Course) you have to visit the Sidereal Temples of the Genii with whom you are working. Thus, in Aries you will visit the Genii of Aries; in Taurus, those of Taurus, and so on, begging these Genii to come and treat your organs that correspond to the zodiacal sign with which you are working.

These Twenty-Four Elders sometimes meet in the Heart-Temple of the Earth, around the Lamb.

Our twelve faculties or, in other words, our twelve senses are the twelve faculties of the Zodiac within us. We must make our Zodiac shine by means of these practices, so that we can become ineffable Gods.
