Dear Members, Guest & Residents

In your recent visit to SouthLinks you must have noticed lots of renovation works around the club house area or at some parts of the golf course. We are already in our 17 years of operation and are in the midst of upgrade to keep our facilities in pristine condition. We have completed refurbishment of the ladies locker room and midway through our male locker room.

A lush lawn between the swimming pool and the buggy track near the green of hole #9 is now under construction. This open lawn will be well manicured and ready by December to cater for outdoor functions, eg: wedding & birthday. Hopefully if conditions permit lawn bowling may also be introduced.

The golf course maintenance team has been busy installing subsoil drainage pipes in all wet spots. The tee box at hole #15 have been enlarged and raised. The green conditions have also been consistent, between 8.4 to 8.6. In the coming month we will be uplifting the fairway bunkers of hole #1 and hole #18 to enable golfers see them from the tee box. We will also enlarge and deepen the pond at left fairway of hole #1 to improve drainage & cosmetics.

9. Upgrading and ImprovementsSouthlinks Country Club takes great pride to be an evolving Club, applying continuous improvement in all areas.

Female changing room has been upgraded, two shower rooms added. The shower rooms and toilets are now enclosed with new tempered glass.

At Male Changing Room, the upgrading is still in progress. Locker room, powder room and sitting area are completed with new ceiling, wallpaper and flooring. The shower rooms will be ready for use in the coming Independence Day Tournament. Soon, we will upgrade the toilet area and ofuro.We appreciate members and guests for their understanding during this upgrading period.

Lunch Room at Golfers’ Terrace was enlarged and renamed to Kenanga Room that is perfect for private function or dine for up to 6 flights. At the Swimming Pool, filtration system was improved and sharp edge tile was changed to fine gravel.

Originally tee box hole #15 was small, 7m x 5m overgrown with cowgrass and at the same level with buggy track. Golfers from the tee ground was not able to have a clear view of the fairway. Upon uplifting and widening it, it is now double the original size, cow grass replaced with zoysia. Golfers now have commanding view.

11. Junior Golf at SouthLinksThe Junior Golf Club of SouthLinks was inaugurated on 1st July 2009, made-up mostly of children of members and children of regular golfers. The purpose of this Junior Club is to prepare young golfers of the next generation in Batam to excel in the game. It is now a standing arrangement to run tournaments for junior golfers during school holidays. In the recent competition on 9th Jun 2013, 19 participants were organized in 4 Divisions as follows :
