Camille’s Sidewalk Café

I wrote Camille’s Sidewalk Café’ and asked if they had any items in on their menu that are Gluten Free. They wrote back and said:“All the salads and salad dressings at Camille’s are gluten free, as long as you ask when ordering to leave off the croutons or the crunchy noodles used on some salads.  All of our smoothies and our chips and salsa are also gluten free.”They also said that they are researching for a bread or wrap alternative that is gluten free to offer in the future.

Domino’s

This is mostly Pizza that we can’t eat. It says on the web site that some locations have garden salads and grilled chicken Caesar Salad but I can’t find them at any location near here. If you do find them, you can eat them and you can eat any dressing. But you may want to double check the ingredients to make sure they haven’t changed.

I really don’t see where you can eat anything at McDonald’s safely except for the Apple Dippers with the Caramel sauce.The shakes are safe and so is the McFlurry with M&M’s.Some people say you can eat a beef patty with no bun bun but they cook it on the same grill with other items that are not safe so I think the cross contamination would be worrisome.

Mellow Mushroom

Mellow Mushroom is a pizza place. They don’t serve gluten free pizza but they do serve gluten free wings.

Panera Bread

Panera Bread has a Seasonal Menu and will often have menu items that they are trying out, just ask them about these items and they will look up the ingredient list for you. If you have any questions about any items on their menu just ask them, they are always very nice about looking up the ingredients for you.

Some Panera’s have bakery’s on site and some don’t, I’ve found it much easier to eat without contamination in the Panera’s that don’t have a bakery in them.**Although we do our very best to meet your special requirements, we cannot rule out the possibility of cross contact between these items and gluten-containing foods in our bakery-café.

Schlotzsky’s

I couldn’t find any allergy information on line so I emailed the home office. Kim Jones from Customer Service wrote back and said that all of the salad dressings are gluten free except for the Caesar. Also, all of their meats and cheeses are gluten free except for the Angus Steak.So we could easily have a salad there.

Sheetz

This is what Sheetz has posted on their website.ALLERGEN WARNING: All foods, bakery items, and specialty beverages in our store are prepared in a shared environment which could cause exposure of any product to known food allergens. These would include, but are not limited to: peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, egg, fish, and milk.

However, this is a convenience store too and there is a lot of food that is packaged that we could find to eat. Like yogurt, boiled eggs, cheese…if we are desperate we can find something to eat here.

The Waffle House is mostly a breakfast place. You can easily eat there but I can’t find a menu or allergy information on line. They cook the waffles separate from the rest of the food and the toast is cooked separately too.When you order your food you must tell them that you are allergic to toast and it can not touch your plate. If there are crumbs on your plate you will have to send it back. They are normally very nice. I don’t know if you can eat the sausage or not. I don’t think I would risk it, but you can eat the eggs, bacon, grits (I don’t know if you know what that is), the hash browns, cheese…
