The palm oil plantation in Malaysia

• I have been researching the deforestation of Malaysia for my first Global perspective project. The deforestation is happening because they are begin to start the plantation of palm oil trees in the island of Borneo, Borneo is a island of the biggest rainforest in southeast Asia.

What are palm oil/what is it for?

• Palm oil is a oil that are use all over the world for different product like oil, fuel or food product.

• Palm oil mainly use us biofuel in some countries.

My personal perspective• My personal perspective on this issue is that

the deforest is a bad thing because they destroying the rainforest and the wildlife living there and the habitat that are there.

• The Malaysian government did this for the money and want the whole world to be known that Malaysia is the biggest palm oil industries in the world.

The Malaysian Government’s perspective

• The Malaysian government support the deforestation and replacing it palm oil trees.

• The government also support it because it a good way of saving money and making them, with the oil they can make as biodiesel and etc.

The global perspective

• However, this is not the view of everyone. From the global perspective, opinion is much more split. Supporters of the deforestation include the group of people which support and a group who are against it.

• They argue that the deforestation is a bad thing because the government did this for money.

The future scenarios/solution

• In the future, I believe that this deforestation that are happening in Malaysia can be stop in the near future. The stop of deforestation in Malaysia will give a bright future to Malaysia and the rest of the whole.
