Dear Parents/Guardians,

Primary 3 Assessment Schedule for 2019

In line with the Ministry of Educations efforts to move away from an over-emphasis on academic results, the school is embarking on holistic assessment for Primary 3.

2. Bite-sized forms of assessment will be conducted throughout the year to support the pupils development and achievement in learning. A formal assessment in the form of Semestral Assessment (SA) will be conducted in Term 4.

3. There will be no formal assessment in Term 1 as pupils need time to adjust to the new subject and the higher content rigour and expectations. Any assessment done is purely developmental.

4. The table shows the weightings for assessment for 2019:

5. The format and scope of the bite-sized assessments for Term 2 and Term 3 are attached as Annex 1 and Annex 2 respectively. The assessment schedule, format and scope of the Semestral Assessment (SA) for Term 4 is attached as Annex 3.

6. Please note the following:

Our school places great emphasis on good values like honesty and integrity. Disciplinary action will be taken against candidates who are caught cheating or engaging in acts of dishonesty/disruption during the examination.

All absences must be substantiated by a Medical Certificate.

For assessments in Terms 2 and 3, pupils who are absent for the assessments which constitute the overall grade will be allowed to take the assessments during the assessment period if supported by a Medical Certificate.

There will be NO make-up paper for Term 4 Semestral Assessment.

Pupils who are absent without any valid reason will be awarded zero mark for the paper missed. Pupils who are absent with a Medical Certificate will be awarded a VR for the paper missed, to indicate Valid Reason and marks will be pro-rated. Please see summary table overleaf.
