Ten years ago, the “PRESTOLITE” brand was launched in India and since then we have been successful in establishing the presence of one of the world's largest group in the battery business in India. “PRESTOLITE” was the first battery to be introduced in India with several unique features such as bone-dry charge, polyethylene separators with glass mat, cold forged terminals, etc., features which met customers' requirement of a high-tech and maintenance free battery. Today, as we look back over the record of the last decade, we are proud of our accomplishments. At the same time, we are also aware that this would not have been possible without the untiring and committed efforts of our Distribution network for which we are grateful.Since April 4, 1997, when the first battery was fitted in a Maruti car at Bangalore, Tudor India has grown in more ways than one. Firstly, our plant capacity has increased to 6 lacs per annum through investment in machinery. This capacity increase was consolidated by the implementation of t h e T o y o t a L e a n Manufacturing System which resulted in an i m p r o v e m e n t i n t h e productivity and reduction in the scrap. Secondly, our t u r n o v e r h a s b e e n increasing steadily and for the year 2006 / 07 the same was Rs. 94.72 crores.Although these two factors did not reflect initially in our balance sheet due to accumulated losses, the performance during the past t w o y e a r s h a s b e e n tremendous where we have posted prof i ts before Interest , Depreciat ion Exceptional Items and Tax of Rs 1.82 crores and 9.01 crores for 2005/06 (9 Months) and 2006/07 respectively. We have been successful not only in penetrating and capturing a substantial share of the replacement market, but have also been able to get ourselves registered with several OEMs such as Volvo India, Tatra Udyog, Ashok Leyland, Caterpillar India, Mahindra & Mahindra, International Tractors, etc.Today, Tudor is the #1 battery in the inverter

segment which has been mainly due to the superior performance of our “PRESTOMASTER” batteries supported by the effective after-sales-service extended by our network. Tudor also has a very significant share in the car as well as the tractor segments. Tudor India's strength lies in being part of the world's oldest and largest battery company as this makes it possible for Tudor to introduce the latest technology in the Indian market. This is reflected in the industrial batteries and cells which were introduced in the Indian market with tubular positive plates manufactured with unique features such as thin spines and slurry filling. These cells and batteries were used successfully both in material handling equipment as well as battery operated three wheelers and hybrid buses. As part of our commitment to preserving the

environment, Tudor has been implementing the Battery Management and Handling Rules 2001 (BMHR) effectively by way of collecting old and unserviceable batteries back from the market. The battery market in India is growing rapidly and we have a great future in store for us. "Vision without action is a daydream; action without a vision is a nightmare.”The future is wonderful indeed.

“A Decade of x-treme Excellence”

Tudor India Ltd, an Indian company of a global leader in stored electrical-energy solutions, announces to celebrate completion of FIVE years of Battery (Management and Handling) Rules 2001 (BMHR). Company proposes to conduct free check and service mela, camp at petrol pumps and retailer outlets, conduct dealers meet to educate customers about effects of lead acid pollution on environment and health due to recycling of lead in unhygienic manner by unorganized sector and responsibilities of car and fleet owner, dealer, distributor and public under BMHR 2001.

The Ministry of Environment and Forest (MEF) announced notification on BMHR in 2001 to protect environment and health of lives. The discarded batteries had been used by unorganized sector to make batteries by recycling lead from discarded batteries virtually in very unhygienic manner which pollute environment and health of lives. The fumes arising from lead and acid mixture during de-draining process of recycling damage the nervous system of humans who inhale this fume. Again, the quality of these batteries is sub-standard, potentially accident and health hazards prone and many times lead to frequent failures, which ultimately cost dearer to consumer.

The Protection of the environment is one of the biggest concerns of Tudor India Ltd. which is demonstrated by various campaigns, a strong initiatives and commitment to comply BMHR 2001 to make environment free from lead acid pollutions. We are committed to offer maintenance free best quality product with latest improvised international technology to give peaceful and complete experience.
