RAINFORESTRainforests of the world

Who- There are over 50,000,000 different tribes living in world rainforests. These people depend on the rainforest for survival; they need to gather fruit, which grow on trees in the rainforest. What- A dense jungle with heavy annual rainfall.Where- Rainforests are found in the tropics, the region between the Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer.When- Rainforests are found in the tropics, the region between the Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer.

How- the reason rainforests grow is because of the immense amount of rain

GrasslandsGrasslands of the world

Who- Grasslands are home to many of the world's grazing herbivores and fast moving predators that eat them.What- A large open area of country covered with grassWhere- Grasslands originally covering as much as 25% of the earths surface. When- it rains about 10 times a year in grasslandsWhy- Because there is no warm time of the year for trees to grow. It's hot and then it's cold.How- It is formed when an area or place gets more than forty inches of rain a year where a forest would grow, so weather determines if a grass land.

DesertsDeserts of the world

Who- More than one billion people, one-sixth of the Earth's population, actually live in desert regions.What- a barren an arid region with little annual rainfallWhere- Approximately one-third of the Earth's land surface is desert.When- yes it rains in deserts, annually less than 200mm a year.Why- Deserts are so hot because of the lack of water. Also because of the little moisture in the air.How- when trees are cut down, there are no tree roots to hold the soil in place. This means wind erosion can pick up more good topsoil and take it away.
