Bulletin 1497 Selection Guide
2
The Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1497 Global Control Circuit Transformers
from Rockwell Automation are designed to reduce supply voltages
to machine tool control circuits, providing greater safety to
operators. These transformers also isolate the control circuits from
power and lighting circuits. They are especially designed to
accommodate the momentary current inrush caused when
electromagnetic components are energized, without sacrificing
secondary voltage stability per NEMA ICS2-100.
The Bulletin 1497 control circuit transformers are designed to meet
international standards and carry the CE mark. They
are an ideal choice when meeting global
requirements with voltages ranging
between 208…600 and VA ratings
from 63…2000, 50 or 60 Hz.
The complete line of transformers is available with optional
factory-installed or panel-mount dual primary and secondary fuse
block. The dual primary and secondary fuse block is pre-wired and
top-mounted on transformers rated up to 500 VA, which helps
customers comply with UL Standard 508 and NEC 450. This also
helps reduce costs associated with installation and inventory. To
provide added protection from the transformer inrush, the primary
fuse block requires Class CC time delay, rejection style fuses. The
secondary fuse block uses a midget (1.5” x 13/32”) fuse.
Transformers with factory-installed, top-mount fuse blocks have the
same footprint dimensions as transformers without fuse blocks.
Bulletin 1497 offers single, dual, and multi-tap
primary voltages. These versatile multi-tap
transformers allow reduced control power
from a variety of voltage sources to meet
a wide array of applications.

Approvals
EN 61558 – CE MARK REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for industrial control circuit transformers to be used in the
European Common Market are identified by the International Electrotechnical
Commission (IEC) and specified under EN61558, non short-circuit-proof isolating
transformers, under the Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC. Manufacturers of
control circuit transformers indicate compliance with these requirements by
placing a CE mark on the product.
TÜV RHEINLAND
The Bulletin 1497 Control Circuit Transformers comply with the above
referenced specification and are third-party tested by TÜV Rheinland to
standards accepted by the European Common Market.
63…2000 Class B 130˚ C
Transformer can beinstalled in NEMACombination Starters
Features
Bulletin 1497 ModCenter Control Circuit Transformer kits are feature-
enhanced and designed specifically for use with NEMA Combination
Starters and Pump Panels in the Program.
The Allen-Bradley Program is a fast-ship program for
NEMA Enclosed Combination Starters and for open-type NEMA
Contactors and Starters. This program is offered through authorized
Allen Bradley Distributors and is designed to provide same-day
shipping capability to meet customer needs.
In keeping with the Rockwell Automation Complete Automation strategy, the Program
offers increased flexibility by reducing lead times for selected NEMA Starters.
