Welcome Back We hope you all had a terrific holiday and enjoyed two weeks of family fun. We have a very exciting and busy term ahead. Although we will be busy, our core business is, as always, teaching children. Together with you, we look forward to sharing in the excitement of watching your children learn throughout the term.

Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon
We're so excited to announce that Charli, Johnny and Jacinta Solomon have been picked to be Kids TRYathlon School Ambassadors. This means that Charli, Johnny and Jacinta are helping to spread the word about the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon. The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is all about getting out there with your friends and giving it a TRY while having lots of fun. You'll swim, cycle and run to the finish line, where EVERYONE gets a medal. Over the next few weeks, you'll see lots of posters and flyers about the Kids TRY around the school grounds. Be sure to ask Charli, Johnny and Jacinta for more info about the Kids TRY, like how to register and what to expect on the day. To find out more about the Kids TRY, visit www.tryathlon.com.au
THANKS, Teachers! This Friday is World Teachers’ Day (don’t tell the teachers…). Although the staff do their jobs because they love teaching, not because they’re after votes of thanks, it is nice to know that their work is appreciated by you and your kids. Please take the time to write a card/note… it will mean a lot for your child’s teacher. Thanks!

Changes??? If you are planning on moving out of the Glenorie area and, regretably, need to leave our school, please inform the office in writing as soon as possible. I have spoken to a few parents that have indicated they are leaving. We are currently working on 2020 staffing arrangements and early notification is essential as we are growing in numbers. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
Visitors to School We would like to remind all visitors to the school that due to the safety and welfare of students you must register with the front office on our electronic sign-in system. Please do not go to classrooms or the playground (recess/lunch time) without signing in first. If you wish to speak to a teacher, please make an appointment. Do not stand at the classroom door after 9:30am to chat as you are intruding on all the students’ leaning time. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
Starting Kindy Do you have a child starting Kindergarten in 2020? Show them this video which explains what happens during a typical day. http://www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/wellbeing/development/what-happens-in-kindergarten
Kindergarten Orientation Starting Kindergarten is an exciting time for children as well as their parents. Our first day of Kindergarten transition started this week. It is a very exciting time for our new kindy students and their Mums & Dads.
Our Kindergarten orientation for parents will be held on… Thursday 14 November We will be running the Best Start Program with our new Kindergarten students next year.
This will mean that our Kindergarten students will attend school over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at hour intervals to be assessed,
returning home after the completion of the assessment. This allows our Kindergarten teachers to administer the assessment to each student
and assess their abilities before they begin Kindy next year.
We will let each 2020 kindergarten parent know after our orientation sessions are finished, the date and time that their child will attend the
Best Start Assessment. All kindergarten children will start together on Monday 3 Feb 2020, when they will be placed in their classes for the
year
If you have any questions or concerns about next year’s enrolment, please contact Mrs Perry.
Student Resources Hopefully you used the holidays to replace any worn/broken stationery items. If you have not already done so, please ensure your child has new pens, pencils, erasers, etc. by the end of this week.
Student Numbers We can only accept “in-area” enrolments for 2020. At this stage it is looking like we will start 2020 with 12 mainstream classes. As with this year, there is a possibility that next year our school structure may involve multi-age (composite) classes. We will inform you about possible structures towards the end of this term.
