Come to the Café on lower level first, if you plan to eat.

Park on the lower level with the entrance on the south

side of the building next to Chapel Hills Mall. Swing by

the café where they have a nice sandwich collection for

$8. Bring your lunch upstairs (just above where you just

entered). Look for the “ENABLE” sign on the wall. If

you come in the front door, go down to the café or look

to your left to see the big “ENABLE” sign. That is the

ENT Conference Center where we will have our meeting

followed by tour.

Spouses and guests strongly encouraged!

What is Expected of our Gleneagle Officers?

When you are asked by the Nominating Committee to take a club leadership role you

should know what to expect and what is expected. Elected officers have specific duties

detailed in our club’s governing documents and they will be asked to lead committees.

One of the secrets of successful clubs is in their officers leading their committees

toward board decisions benefiting the club as a whole. Our club offices along with a

brief listing of their duties and their respective committees are listed below. The

incoming Club President will be meeting with each officer in April and May to do

some general planning and to help identify members for their committees. If you w ant

to talk about any of these responsibilities please ask a member of the Nominating Committee.

(Duane, Jack, Gloria, Pete, Rae)

The Club Officer Duties and their Committees:

President – Presides at all meetings and assigns other duties in the administration of the Club. Has leadership and

oversight responsibility for the officers, directors and committee chairs. The President also is responsible for leader-

ship of the Executive Committee which includes the President-Elect, the five Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer.

The Club President working with the Exec Cmte is responsible for making operational plans for the clubs activities,

finances and other tasks as defined by the Board.

President-Elect – Prepares to become President. Presides in the absence of the President. Other duties as assigned

by the President. Conduct Club Leadership Conference prior to the beginning of their presidential year.

VP Membership – Chairs the Membership Committee and is responsible for leadership and oversight of Growth,

Retention and Orientation sub-committees. The VP Membership is also charged with working closely with the Sick

and Visitation Committee to stay informed of members not feeling well.

VP Programs – Chairs the Program Committee and is responsible for leadership and oversight of Social and Inter-

club Relations subcommittees.

VP Sponsorship – Chairs the Sponsorship Committee and is responsible for leadership and oversight of Serteens,

Boy Scouts, National Heritage, Annual Fund Contributions, Hearing Health and Scholarship subcommittees.

VP Ways & Means – Chairs the Ways and Means Committee and is responsible for leadership and oversight of sub-

committees raising funds for the Club – Spirits of Spring, Patriot Golf, Bed & Breakfast, King Sooper Coupon Sales

and other subcommittees created for fundraising.

VP Service – Chairs the Service Committee and has leadership and oversight of other subcommittees defined by the

VP Service and the Board for the purpose of conducting service projects.

Secretary – Responsible for keeping records of all business transactions of the club, sends notices of meetings to the

members, committees and directors. Maintains a complete club membership roster. Prepares and distributes board

meeting minutes. Submits required reports to the Pikes Peak District Governor, Mountain West Region Director and

Sertoma, Inc. Chairs the Incentive/Awards Committee. The Secretary is responsible for leadership and oversight of

the Publicity Committee which includes our newsletter and other media to include electronic media.

Treasurer – Responsible to maintain custody of all funds and accounting of funds. Reports financial position at the

Annual Meeting and regular Board of Directors Meetings. With the input of VP’s and other Committee Chairs drafts a

budget for Board consideration.

Sergeant-at-Arms – The Sgt-at-Arms makes sure members and guests are greeted as they arrive, preserves order

at the meetings, has custody of recognition badges of the members, sets up the meeting room including banners and

other equipment. The Sgt-at-Arms also documents meeting attendance and has leadership responsibility for the At-

tendance subcommittee.

The new year ahead will expand our club’s recognition, size and influence in the com-

munity. I ask you to talk to a member of the Nominating Committee, then join up and

share in the planning and execution of some bold initiatives to make that happen in

the coming year.

Duane Gritzmaker, President-Elect
