It is lovely to be back at our wonderful little school after my week in Sydney at a very intensive training course. I am told that our children performed beautifully and demonstrated excellent behaviour during the Education Week Assembly at Glen Innes Town Hall. Well done everyone. Thank you to all the parents and family members who came along and supported our staff and students, and congratulations to all the award recipients.
I was impressed by the number of parents who attended our recent Parent/Teacher Interviews. Thank you so much for being part of this opportunity, all of the teachers valued the chance to meet with you all in person and share your child’s successes. If you have not yet met with your child’s teacher, please contact the office to arrange a time.
Earlier this week the P&C sent home Father’s Day order forms. Please feel free to come in and view samples of the items available, all of which are being lovingly handmade by one of our P&C parents. The P&C also sent home survey forms. I encourage you to complete these and return them. They are in desperate need of helpers. Without the P&C many valuable fundraising activities will not occur and your children will miss out on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Stalls and many other events that the teachers do not have time to organise. You may not be aware that the P&C fund the student’s end of year special lunch etc. and pay for some of the opportunities and equipment provided to your children. We would hate for children to miss out, however without support for the P&C, this may be the case. Again, I urge you to complete the form and become involved in your child’s school.
Kindergarten currently have a student teacher working within the classroom. We warmly welcome Miss Davis to our school and hope she enjoys her time with us.
Due to staffing arrangements at Glenwood, there will be no Glenwood reading scheme until 26th September. We are eager to resume this valuable experience for our students and the residents of Glenwood.
Have a wonderful week and try to stay warm.
