REGULAR CLASSES JUNIOR PUPPY - 6 months & under 9 months on the day of the show SENIOR PUPPY- 9 months & under 12 months on the day of the show 12-18 MONTH CLASS - for dogs 12 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show CANADIAN BRED - for dogs born in Canada, Champions in any country excluded. BRED BY EXHIBITOR - shall be for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder. OPEN CLASS - shall be for all Dogs. SPECIALS ONLY – Dogs which have a recorded CKC registration, Event Registration Number (ERN) or Miscellaneous Certification Number (MCN) and have attained the required points for Championship status. All awards earned at the show will be cancelled if it is found that a dog is not registered or has not completed the requirements for a CKC Championship. Dogs entered in this class will compete for Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Puppy if eligible.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES EXHIBITION ONLY - Dogs entered in this class may not compete in the regular breed classes. BABY PUPPY CLASS- This class shall be for any dog 3months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show. The award for this class are: Best Baby Male, Best Baby Female, Best Baby Puppy in Breed, Best Baby Puppy in Group, Best Baby Puppy in Show (This class will be held on completion of Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group, and PRIOR Best In Show) SEXUALLY ALTERED CLASS: Eligibility into this class shall be limited to dogs over six months of age which have been sexually altered by veterinary procedure. Points WILL NOT be carried from the regular competition judging to the Altered class judging. This class WILL be judged upon the completion of Best Baby Puppy in Breed, Group and Show, respectively. Two classes ONLY will be offered as follows: Altered Male or Altered Female Classes will be placed first through fourth in both sexes, the first place winners from each sex will be declared Winners and the second place winner from each sex will be awarded Reserve. The Altered Winners Male and Altered Winners Female will then compete for Best Altered in Breed

JUNIOR HANDLING Judge to be announced. Time: During the lunch hour August 7, 2013 Entries will be accepted at the Show Secretary’s desk between 10:00am to 11:00 am. Entry Fee: $2.00 The following classes will be provided: Pee Wees Intermediate Open Junior Novice Senior Novice Junior Open Senior Open Intermediate Novice Junior handling is open to all persons from four years up to but not including eighteen years of age on the date of the competition. All dogs must be entered in a Regular Class or for Exhibition only at the all breed show on Sunday, but need not be owned by the Junior. Rosettes and prizes will be awarded for FIRST IN EACH CLASS and for BEST OVERALL HANDLER. Ribbons will be awarded to second through fourth in each class. Each PeeWee Participant will receive a participant ribbon. Glacier View Kennel Club is pleased to offer a perpetual trophy for Best Overall Handler in memory of MR. JOHN McNICOL. This perpetual trophy will remain with the club and a keeper trophy will be awarded. (Rosettes will be offered for First in each class and a prize for Best Overall Handler (excluding PeeWee). A dog may not be credited with more than 5 points in a single show. A class dog whichAlso places BEST IN SHOW at an All Breed Championship Show shall be credited withfive (5) championship points inclusive of any points earned at the breed and group level.In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, dogs that have been excused,disqualified, dismissed from the ring by the judge, shall not be included in calculation(Absentees are not counted) To earn a Canadian Championship, a dog must earn atleast ten championship points under at least three different judges, and be Individually registeredwith the Canadian Kennel Club, or have a C.K.C. Non-Member Participation Fee 24-12-3. a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be canceled. c) "These fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by non-CKC members and are not applicable to CKC members."

Directions to show location

Go north on Hwy 19 until exit 117. Take exit 117 and follow the signs to Courtenay. You will eventually come to a T junction, turn left and then get into the right hand lane. At 17th St. (there will be signs for Campbell River), go right and go over a bridge to a T junction, turn left (you can turn left from either lane) and follow the road to a large intersection. You will see Superstore on your right. Go through the lights, past Canadian Tire and go through the set of lights. You are now on Headquarters Road. Follow this along until you see a sign for the dog show on your left (about 1 Kilometre) Directions from the North Go south on Hwy 19, take exit 127 and follow road until you reach Headquarters Road, turn right, and then watch for Dog Show signs on right. Or on Old Island Hwy – Turn right on Vanier Drive – opposite Art Knapps, at stop sign turn left – until you see signs for show on right.

RULES GOVERNING THESE EVENTS

It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be familiar with the rules pertaining to the event in which they are competing .Copies of the Conformation Show Rules’ are available from the Canadian Kennel Club 400 200 Ronson Dr ,Etobicoke, Ontario M9W5Z9

1. The club reserves the right to remove any person from the show. The Show Superintendant shall have full control of these shows, which will be governed by CKC Rules. 2. Any dog Excused by the Show Superintendent or Veterinarian for any reason shall not, compete in

any class for any awards for the balance of the show. 3. The officials of the show-giving club are responsible for the conduct of the exhibitors and spectators

during the show. Any person acting in an objectionable manner must be removed from the show on complaint to the Show Superintendent (DSR 6.3.3,Jan 98)

4. A judge officiating at a show held under C.K.C. Rules shall not be subject to indignities of any kind during the progress of the Show, and it shall be the duty and obligation of the Club holding the Show to see that this Rule is effectively carried out. (DSC 6,3.3 Jan 98)

5. There will be no refunds for overpayments of duplicate entries. No entry fees will be refunded if the show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club.

6. The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume liability in the event of accident, loss, or other misfortune to either dogs, exhibitors, patrons, or the contents of commercial booths. See agreement on back of entry forms.

7. The owner of a dog entered in this Show is entirely responsible for any errors in entering his dog, regardless of how or by whom the entry was made.

8. Exhibitors are solely responsible for the conduct or actions of their animals while they are on the show grounds, and for their equipment left at the show site. All dogs must be kept on leash.

9. Any dog excused by the Show Superintendent or Show Veterinarian for any reason shall not, after being excused, compete in any class for any award for the balance of the show.

10. A judge shall have the right to measure in the ring and weigh or have weighed by the Superintendent, any dog whose breed standard lists height or weight as a disqualification. The decision of the Show Superintendent reported to the judge shall be final in the determination of the weight. The decision of the judge shall be final in the determination of all disqualification’s ( DSR 6.4.1, Jan 98 )

11. A dog once disqualified for any reason at a Champion Show held under C.K.C. Rules cannot again be shown at a Show under C.K.C. Rules until the dog has been examined by an official committee appointed by the C.K.C. and the committee finds the dog is free from the condition which prompted the disqualification . Application for Reinstatement must accompanied by the appropriate fee plus GST which fee shall be forfeited to the C.K.C. if the examining committee is satisfied that the dog should remain disqualified. All awards earned by a dog shown in violation of this Rule shall be cancelled by the C.K.C., and the owner of the dog is subject to disciplinary action.

12. All trailers, campers and other recreational vehicles must have buckets underneath for their sink drains. Anyone found discharging sewage or grey water on the grounds will be removed from the grounds. All camp sites and grooming areas must be clean before you leave the grounds. 13. GENERATORS are NOT to be used between 10:00 p.m and 6:30 am.

Canine Good Neighbour Test

August 7, 2013 in conjunction with the Glacier View Kennel Club Shows. Testing will begin after the show rings are finished for the day.

Location: Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds

Evaluators T.B.A. The Canine Good Neighbour Test is open to both purebred dogs and mixed breeds and consists of 12 parts:

Accepting a friendly stranger Accepting petting Appearance and grooming Out for a walk Walking through a crowd Sit/Down on command and stay in place

Come when Called Praise / Interaction Reaction to passing dog Reaction to distractions Supervised Isolation Walking politely through a door or gate.

Handlers are required to bring:

A dog license if required by local dog control laws A leash that is not less than 2’ long and not more than 6’ long. Acceptable collars are a well-fitting slip, buckle or martingale collar, made of fabric, leather or

chain. A grooming tool, either a brush or a comb A plastic bag for picking up after your dog

Certificates will be issued from the CKC for passing dogs, and a badge will be given at the test for dogs that pass. PLEASE NOTE: food and training aids may not be used during a CGN test and can’t be brought into the testing area.

The CGN will be part of FPO&TC’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations and there will be festivities. Please join in the fun!
