KMART WISHING TREE CHRISTMAS BAKE SALE Thank you to all the families who purchased an item from our Christmas Charity Bake Sale earlier this term,

we raised $595! The Supreme Baker’s spent this last term working very hard baking and decorating for the

sale. They have now chosen and wrapped gifts that will be donated to the Kmart Wishing Tree in Melton

this Sunday. What a fantastic effort!

CANTEEN NEWS

I would like to extend a huge “Thank You” to Gisborne Bakers Delight for

their generous donations of bread and bread cards throughout the year.

These donations equate to around $5,000 worth of bread! We encourage

families to purchase their bakery items through Gisborne Bakers Delight to

return the generous support they continue to show our school.

I would also like to thank all our wonderful parent helpers this year, we

couldn't operate without you! Make sure you come along to the Parent

Helpers Morning Tea this Monday at 11:00am.

Merry Christmas! See you in the New Year.

As 2016 draws to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to give you a summary of what the

PFA, with the support of our school community, has achieved this year.

We kick started the year with our Family Picnic Night - a great way for families to get together

and for the kids to have some fun too! We had our Mother’s and Father’s Day Stall, Auskick

Sausage Sizzle, Easter Chocolate Drive, Vision Portraits, School Disco, Book Stall and finished up

with a Christmas Cake Stall! What a year! All in all we raised $12,974.56.

With the money raised this year we donated $6,000 towards classroom reading books, $10,000

towards the upgrade of the school oval as well as an additional amount to extend the watering

system along the retaining wall. We gave our sandpit a makeover and provided the students who

completed the Premiers Reading Challenge with a congratulatory morning tea!

Behind every great fundraiser there’s a dedicated group of parents who do all the hard work behind

the scenes. My sincere thanks to the members of the PFA for their dedication, commitment and

hard work – they really do an amazing job and it’s been a pleasure working alongside them this

year.

Of course we wouldn’t be anywhere near as successful without the support of the school community.

A huge thank you to the parents, the families and friends of our kids, who

always contribute to the activities that we run – we couldn’t do it without

you!

And finally, on behalf of the PFA, I would like to wish all the families and

staff of Gisborne Primary School a very merry Christmas and a happy, safe,

relaxing new year. We look forward to working with you again in 2017.

Merry Christmas!

Jill Doyle
