1 Introduction

1.1 Introduction to GigaCentral

GigaCentral is the one place for everything in your company. Its customized encryption feature

enables secure hybrid storage for all your corporate and personal working files, while you can

access them from all your devices. With the new Place Holder technology and the stable

performance of the Appliance, you will get unlimited disk space for all your files.

1.2 GigaCentral CAWeb Portal

The GigaCentral CAWeb Portal allows admin of GigaCentral to manage Users, Drive storage,

see Logs in a CAWeb portal. Admins will be able to perform create & delete new user, edit

user detail, resend invitation email, migrate user storages, add new drive, edit user drive

permission, set allowed device, See Audit logs and more. Most of these functions performed

will be directly take effect in Storage.

2 Getting Started

Pre-requisite: You are required to have an admin account in GigaCentral before you can start

administering the application

2.1 Log in

1. Launch a web browser and access the GigaCentral CAWeb Portal via your respective

GigaCentral device IP address: e.g. http://192.168.1.88/caweb

2. At the log in page, enter your username and password.

• Default admin username: gcadmin

• Password: GigaCentral@dm1n

3. Click Login.

4. If you have login successfully, you will see the page as shown below.

Login Errors:

If you encounter any error message below,

1. Username entered does not exist. Check that you have entered a correct username.

2. Invalid password entered. Check that you have entered a correct password.

3. Your account has been disabled. Check with your Administrator.

4. Your account is locked. Check with your Administrator.

5. Your must change your password before login.

2.3 Password Reset (Not Applicable to AD users)

2.3.1 At Login

If you forget your password, you can reset it.

1. Click on “Forgot Password?” at the login page of CAWeb

2. Enter username and email & click OK.

3. Check your email and follow the link.

4. You’ll be redirected to the login screen with a prompt for you to update your

password.

2.3.2 If you wish to change your password after login

1. Click on your username at the top right hand corner.

2. Click on Change Password.

3. Click Save.

4. An email will be sent to inform you that your password has been changed.

3 User Management

3.1 User Profile

Upon clicking the user profile tab, view details of individual users are allowed. Navigate the

tabs on the top panel for the respective information as described below:

3.2 For Active Directory Authentication

Note: This section does not apply for organisation using GigaCentral Registered users.

3.2.1 Import Organisation’s Active Directory (AD) user

1. Click on the User management icon along the left panel.

2. Click on the import user icon at the top of the page

3. Select your file via the “Browse” button.

Note: The maximum number of users that can be imported is 100 users per session

Error in importing users

In the event that the user has been imported before, you might encounter an error that

the user already exists in the database. No further action is required.

3.3.1 Create a new registered user

1. Click on User icon in the Icon list along the left panel to navigate to the User list

2. Click on along the Action Pane located at the bottom.

3. Enter Your user details in the input box.

4. Click on Save.

3.3.2 Import a list of registered users

1. Click on the user management icon along the left panel.

2. Click on the import registered user icon.

3. In the window, click on the icon to download the template file.

4. Fill up the excel template with the list of users you wish to import.

Note:

• Username, full name and email are mandatory fields.

• If the expiration is required for the user, mark a “Y” in the expiration column and

you are required to indicate the date. The date should be in dd-mm-yyyy.

• Excel example:

5. Browse for the excel file.

6. Upload the excel and the user information will be shown on the screen.

7. Click on the import icon to import the users.

8. Click on the activation icon to import all the users you have just created.

9. For unsuccessful records, you can download the failed report to view more details

about the successful creation.

3.4 Edit User Details

1. To select one of the users, double click on that username.

2. On the User Profile tab, click on Name Column to change the User Name details.

3. You can change the User Email address in this Email Column.

4. You can change the User Mobile Phone numbers in this Mobile Number Column.

3.5 Deactivate user

1. Click on the user management icon along the left panel.

2. Click on the user’s name.

3. To deactivate the user, toggle the status OFF.

4. Click on the Save button.

3.6 Expiration date for the user

1. Click on the user management icon along the left panel.

2. Click on the user’s name.

3. To set expiration date for the user, set the toggle ON.

4. Select the date from the date picker.

5. Click on save.

3.7 Migrate user’s storage

1. Click on the user management icon along the left panel.

2. Click on the user’s name.

4. Select your target user to migrate the storage to.

5. Click on the tick to confirm the migration of storage.

3.8 Resend invitation email

If the user claimed that the user account creation email was not received, you can resend via

the CAWeb.

1. Click on the user management icon along the left panel.

2. Click on the user’s name.

4 Storage & Drives Management

4.1 Definition of Storage & Drive in GigaCentral

• Before a user can view the files/folders, a drive must be set up. This drive must be

part of a storage and the storage must be created first.

• A drive can be manually created or automatically created (auto-provisioned when

a new user is created/imported)

4.2 Manage Drive

After the storages and drives are created, you can view the capacity used and managed

them. You can

a. View capacity & usage

b. Rename drive name

c. Increase/reduce drive quota

d. Increase/reduce threshold alert

e. Restrict/allow device access

f. Grant/Revoke permission to user

A storage may

comprise of a

single or

multiple drives.

It may be a

physical storage

or be part of a

bigger storage/

file server.

A drive is similar

to a network

drive. It is a folder

with logical group

of documents

dedicated for

4.2.1 View Drive Information

1. Click Storage icon to see your storage details along the left panel.

2. You can view the usage of the drives.

3. Double click on the white space beside the available storages to edit the drive

storages.

4. Then you will see your Users Drive list, double click the path of the drive to manage it

5. On the drive info tab, you can view all the settings and information of your drive.

Field Name Description

Name The name of the folder which will be displayed to the user.

Quota Toggle ON if you wish to set a maximum storage capacity for the drive.

Configure the maximum storage capacity available to the user, only if

Quota is toggled ON.

Threshold Alert Set a threshold level to send email alert to owner when capacity

exceeds the threshold.

For example, if the threshold alert is set 90% to Drive A which has a

10GB capacity, an email alert will be triggered when the capacity of the

drive used is above 9GB. The alert will be sent only once a day after the

calculation is made.

Allowed Devices The device types that are granted access to the drive. By default, all

devices are selected.

4.2.2 Rename Drive

1. Click on the name textbox to edit the name of the drive

2. Click on the save button to save the changes.

3. A success message will appear when the drive information is updated.

4.2.3 Set / Configure the maximum storage capacity for the drive

1. Turn on the toggle to set the maximum storage capacity for the drive.

2. You can input or change the limit the drive capacity by putting value in GB. For

unlimited storage, put a value of 0.

3. Click on save button to save the changes.

4. A success message will appear when the drive information is updated.

4.2.4 Configure the threshold alert of the drive

1. You can input or change the threshold alert of the drive by putting value in

percentage.

2. Click on the save button to save the changes.

3. A success message will appear when the drive information is updated.

4. Once the drive reached the threshold, you will receive a warning email.

4.2.5 Restrict drive access to specific device types

As an administrator, I may not want to allow some drives to be accessible by mobile devices.

Under the drive details, the allowed devices can be turned off.

When toggled OFF, this device type is not allowed to access this drive on

GigaCentral.

When toggled ON, this device type is allowed to access this drive on

GigaCentral.

4.2.6 Recalculate Drive Usage

If the user has exceeded the quota and tried to delete some files to free up the capacity, they

may not be able to immediately use the free capacity as the recalculation of drive capacity is

scheduled to run once only for daily update. The schedule is usually run during non-

operational hours due to the intensive processing.

1. Click on the User Management icon along the left panel.

2. Search for the user’s name and select the user.

3. Normally the usage would have displayed to be full or exceeded slightly.

4. Click on the recalculate button to allow the system to recalculate the drive usage. It

may take a few seconds to minutes to update the information.

4.2.7 Delete Drive

1. Click on the delete button.

2. A pop out window will appear to confirm the deletion of the drive.

3. Enter “remove” in the text box.

4. Click on confirm button to confirm the deletion of the drive.

5. A success message will appear when the drive is deleted.

4.3 Add Drive

1. Click Storage icon to see your storage details

2. Double click on the white space beside the available storages to edit the drive

storages.

4. Enter the name of the new drive.

5. Enter the path for the new drive.

6. You can implement quota limit and the capacity size of the drive is in GB

7. You can implement Threshold Alert in %, the system will send you an email when the

drive size reaches its limit.

8. You can choose which allowed device to connect the new drive.

9. Click on save button to save the configuration of the new drive.

10. A success message will appear when the drive is successfully created.

5 Audit Logs

Audit Logs are used to track the users’ activities. They are useful to when troubleshooting

events or generating usage reports.

5.1 How to use Audit Logs?

1. Select the Audit Logs icon .

2. Click on the dropdown list along the top panel to view the corresponding log reports.

3. You can search for names or actions with the search function.

4. Click on the show filter icon to filter the data in the report selection criteria window.

5. You can indicate your date range & other criteria in the report selection criteria window and

click on the filter icon.

6. Export to CSV files by clicking on the export icon.

7. You can click on the refresh icon to refresh the audit logs.

6 Licensing and Remote Support

6.1 Licensing Details

1. Select icon and you will view your GigaCentral license details.

2. License details include license expiry date of the license.

3. Select subscription from the dropdown and click on the icon and it will pop up

Subscription key details. We will provide you with the key details to input there.

6.2 Configuration

Administrator are able to change the URL of the GigaCentral Enterprise in the configuration

tab.

1. Select icon and you will view your GigaCentral license details.

2. Select subscription from the dropdown

3. To edit the configuration, click on the value to enable editing.

4. Click on save button.

5. A success message will pop out if the configuration settings is saved successfully.
