Retreat Information

"Check-in" for the retreat will begin at 4:30PM on Friday and the retreat will end no later than 12:00PM Sunday. Malvern’s retreat fee includes a private room with a sink in each room and shared bathrooms on each floor. Five family-style meals are included, beginning with dinner on Friday evening and ending with breakfast on Sunday. Included in your registration fee are all gratuities, retreat materials, snacks, bottled water, and coffee. The total cost for the retreat is $220 per person. Limited $100 scholarships are available and must be pre-approved by emailing [email protected].

REFUND POLICY: In order for any refund to be processed, an email to [email protected]

MUST be received by these dates and times:

Full refund for cancellations prior to Friday, February 14 at 5:00 PM. $50 administrative charge for cancellations after Friday, February 14 at 5:00 PM. NO refund for cancellations after Monday, February 24 at 5:00 PM.

The schedule provides for three Masses—Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday morning—as well as spiritual

talks, and opportunities for Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, Healing Prayers, and Praise and Worship. Music will be provided by Mike Corsini and Paul Doman.

Carpools will be organized from the Northern (Silver Spring) and Southern (LaPlata) areas. Stay tuned for

Silent Day From Friday evening through Sunday morning, all Masses and talks will be conducted as usual, but meals and time in-between will be held in silence. Our world provides little time or space for reflection, prayer and contemplation. We ask that you do your best to respect and protect each other’s quiet time with God throughout the day on Saturday.

Father Larry Swink serves as the Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in La Plata, MD. He has been leading retreats for men's and women’s groups for ten years. He has led very powerful and spiritually healing pilgrimages for couples and college students to Mexico City and holy sites in Europe. The oldest of ten children, Father Swink was ordained a priest in May 2006 after attending Immaculate Conception Seminary in South Orange, New Jersey. His previous assignments in the Archdiocese were Saint Mary of the Mills in Laurel, Saint Pius X in Bowie and Jesus the Divine Word in Huntingtown., MD.

Father Dan Leary graduated from Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD, and was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Washington DC in June 1997. He serves as the Pastor of Saint Andrew Apostle Parish in Silver Spring, MD. Father Dan has been leading men's, women's, and couples' retreats for over 21 years. He also has a passion for serving the poor throughout the world and organizes and supports numerous mission trips each year through Mustard Seed Communities and Anima Christi Retreats. His previous assignments in the Archdiocese were Saint Mary's Piscataway in Clinton, Saint Martin of Tours in Gaithersburg, and Jesus the Divine Word in Huntingtown.

Father Michael DeAscanis, pastor of St. Philip Neri in Linthicum Heights, is a well known and sought after speaker in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Ordained in 2004, Father DeAscanis received his Civil Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University before pursuing the life of the clergy. We are pleased to be able to welcome him to this retreat.
