Dr. Sher Shah Syed founder of Pakistan

National Forum on Women Health ( a non-

government organization working for

reproductive health) was invited to the CGI's 5th

annual meeting and his work on this issue was

recognized. His project Training of Midwifery

and Nursing Tutors was one of new programs

that was recognized for the year 2010.

Dr.Shershah is a graduate of DowMedical

College Karachi, Pakistan (Class 1978). He did

his fellowship inObstetrics and Gynecology from

Ireland. At present he is Chief of Kohie Goth

Hospital in Landhi, Karachi and staff physician at

Qatar Hospital, Orangi Town Karachi. Dr.

Shershah Syed has been a very vocal voice for

the indigent in Pakistan and was also PMA

Central Secretary General in past.

Dr. Tazeen Abbas, Head Department of Gynecology Unit II, at Abbasi Shaheed

Hospital, Karachi Dr. Tazeen further said that prevention is the most important factor which will only be achieved if we

create awareness and educate people of our

country regarding preventive measures which are

very simple to adopt. She urged Grace

Management to organize awareness programs in different hospitals and Heads of Nursing

institutions should also be invited to join this

informative and educational campaign. Print and

electronic media can also play an important role in

this regard. She suggested to organize awareness

activities during conference and symposia and small group discussion in different hospitals to

highlight the consequences of pricking of IV

infusion bottles. She commended the efforts being made by Grace Healthcare to educate the

healthcare professionals and public. See hoped that their efforts to create awareness regarding

problems like pricking of IV bottle which spreads
