Australia Day Weekend to Corowa

Hello folks, we had another club outing on the Austraiia Day Weekend to Corowa. Some members including their famil~es made therr way to Corowa already on Wednesday and Thursday. In the end a total of 32 people including kids were present. The weather for this the weekend was promisied to be fine and dry with temperatures predicted around the 25-30 C mark. All was set for a great weekend. On Australia Day some families went to the craft market and tractor-pull as well as to the Mass- Band Parade with 18 Bands marchrng down the main street. Also the next days event, floating downstream the river Murray in tyre tubes, air beds and a rubber dingi was organized. The day ended with a BBQ in the Caravan Park. The next morning began with setting up all the floats including one tube fitted with a 2m mobile ariel connected to Ian's VK3BUF HtH radio. All floats etc. were launched from the caravan park's own ramp. The journey was about 5 km long. To land at the destination took appr. 2 hrs. with some members emerging from their devices with a f ew s~snburns A BBQ was organized (Ian's dad supplied the gas BBQ) at the destination and soon everyone was eating and drinking. For the evening a seperate room at the Australia Hotel was booked (more eating and drinking). The dlnner was good wlth two meals ~ncludlng swe& to choose trom. The next day the big parade was on the agenda with a lot of bands, vintage cars, floats end even the arm;, with their Light Horse Men participating. A great event to watch. In the end it was another great weekend.
