April 12, 2012 After breakfast this morning, you’ll check out of your hotel and head for our nation’s capi-tol—Washington DC. You’ll stop at four of the most popular memorials; the new National World War II Memorial; the moving Vietnam Veterans Memorial; the iconic Lincoln Memori-al; and the haunting Korean War Veterans Memorial. You’ll then depart for the Capitol Visitors Center and the U.S. Capitol. You’ll be able to enjoy lunch on your own there before exploring the Exhibition Hall which tells the story of the United State Congress and the U.S. Capitol. You’ll then proceed to the Library of Congress where you can experience a “hands-on” interaction with rare cultural treas-ures in ways that inspire and engage. Then, on to the Supreme Court Building where our Con-stitution is protected. After checking in to your hotel to freshen up, you’ll enjoy dinner in the DC area. After, embark on an Illuminated Monument Tour with stops at the graceful Air Force Memorial; The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Iwo Jima Statue at the Marine Corps War Memorial. As you make your way around the capitol, you’ll drive past the White House, Jefferson Memorial, the Washington Monument and more before re-turning to your hotel for the evening. April 13, 2012 After breakfast at your hotel, visit Arlington National Cemetery. No land in America is more sacred than this square mile that is Amer-ica’s shrine to valor and sacrifice. This is the final resting place of president John F. Kenne-dy, band leader Glenn Miller, General George S. Patton and of course thousands of soldiers from every major US war. After your visit, you’ll enjoy lunch on your own as well as time to shop at the classic Beaux-Arts Union Station. You’ll then tour President Lincoln’s Cot-tage where he and his family lived for nearly a quarter of his presidency. We’ll tour the Washington National Cathedral, a living sym-bol of our country’s heritage of faith and reli-gious freedom. Our final stops before dinner will be at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. (B/D) April 14, 2012 After breakfast at your hotel this morning, it’s on to your Premium-Preferred Grandstand Seat for the spectacular Cherry Blossom Pa-rade! The parade is one of Washington’s most beloved traditions and you’ll get to see giant colorful balloons, performers and marching bands from high schools all over the US and Japan. After the parade, enjoy lunch on your own and visit your choice of the Smithsonian Institution’s museums on the National Mall. Your options include the Museum of Natural History, Museum of American History, National Gallery of Art, Museum of the American Indian, The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Hirshhorn Museum. Admission is all free. Late this afternoon, you’ll return to your hotel to freshen up before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant. You’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of historic Old Town Alexandria, a charming

city with a small town feel. (B/D)

April 15, 2012 Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning before departing for the new September 11, 2001 Memorial at the Pentagon hon-oring the 184 souls who lost their lives. Your next stop will be at the National Ar-chives where for the first time in modern history all pages of the original Declara-tion of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights are on display to the public. Next you’ll visit the Smithsonian Institu-tion’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center—National Air and Space Museum. From the Space Shuttle Enterprise to the “Enola Gay”, this center tells the history of avia-tion and space flight. Enjoy lunch at the museum before departing for the airport and your flight home. Your time spent in Gettysburg and Washington DC enjoying the 100th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival is sure to be a lasting memory. (B)
