Getting started withDiscovery Education Streaming

New users

1. Go to www.DiscoveryEducation.com2. Obtain our 8-character school passcode from

the library.3. Enter the 8-character school passcode in the

“passcode/new user” section on the right of the screen and click “login.”

4. Once you enter the passcode, you will be prompted to create your account.

5. Your confirmation will be emailed to you.

Existing users

1. Go to www.DiscoveryEducation.com2. Enter your username and password in the

“subscriber login” section on the left side of the screen and click “login.”

Keyword search

Keyword searching allows you to limit results by grade level, subject area and media type.

Advanced search

The advanced search option allows a variety of options including the ability to select a publisher or limit your search to only new titles.

Search filters

Search filters allow you to further narrow your results.

Search results

• Click on the video title or thumbnail to access the full video description page.

• Results can be narrowed further using criteria in the left navigation.

The full video page

• To stream a video, click on the title in the segments list, then click on the play button.

• At the end of the main title and for each segment is an option (down arrow) to add to My Content.

Downloads

Click on the download button above the video and select download options.

Related materials

Related materials are also indicated above the video.

My content

This feature allows you to create folders, collect, organise, share and retrieve your favourite resources.

Hyperlinking and embedding

• You can hyperlink to downloaded videos, or by selecting the share option at the end of a segment title.

• Downloaded videos may also be embedded into MS Powerpoint using: insert>movies and sounds>movie from file.
