Section 1
Creating an Area with Multi-PointFitting a design to an area with 4 corners requires the use of the Multi-Point function. For this example we’ll use the Feather Block pattern from the File menu. This example will be exaggerated in order to see the power of the Multi-Point feature.

Continuous Line\Clover Edge to Edge• PressArea.• Movemachinetotopleftcornerofquilttop.• Press2 Corner.• Movemachinetobottomrightofthroatspace.• Press2 Corner Button (this will create the
area of one pass). The purple lines represent the area. The blue lines around the design represent the bounding box for the design.
• PressArea Height keypad and type in 9.5 (This has now created an area of the width of the quilt and the desired height of the design)
• PressRepeat• PressFit• PressStretch Width and Stretch Height
(ThiswillfilltheAreawiththedesign repeats).
• Pressthe“+”or“–“Horizontal button to add more or less repeats as desired for density.
• PressQuilt.

the down arrow.

Cropping an Area from an Edge-to-EdgeContinued from Creating an Area for Edge to Edge Quilting.
• PressBaseline (this freezes the design with the new settings).
• Movemachinetotopleftcorner.• PressReposition.• PressTop Left Corner button.
• PressArea.• PressClear (this will clear the area of the
Edge-to-Edge so that you can now create a new area in which you would like to crop).
• Movemachinetotheareaonquilttocropand press Multi-Point (In this example, the stars are the area that will be cropped out).
• Continuemovingmachinearoundareayouwish to crop and press Multi-Point after each move
• PressCrop• PressOpen (this will crop the design and let
the machine tie off on the crop area).
• PressInside (This will crop the inside of the area leaving the outside).
• PressBaseline.• Ifthequilthasmoreareastobecropped,
such as the star quilt, repeat the process by creating an area for each star, crop, and baseline.
• Checktoseethatitispositionedcorrectly.• PressQuilt.• PressRun.

L-Shaped CornersImportant: Before you load your fabric on the frame, take an accurate measurement of the vertical border. This will be necessary as you “chunk” your side borders. Record this number for later use.

Placing Right Corner
Return to the beginning of this section and rotate the design to the right corner by using the Rotation functions. Follow directions to create an area, reposition, resize and stitch out design.

• With the needle positioned over that last stitch, press 2-Corner.
• Movemachinetotherightcornerandplaceneedleoverthefirststitchofthecorner design.
• Press2-Corner.Atthispointyouhaveaflatline on your screen.
• Type“Y”orheightmeasurementin the Area Height keypad on the right side of screen.
• Younowhavethecorrectareameasurementtofitbetweenyourcorner designs.
• TheAreaboxwillbecreatedbelowthestartand end points, thus needing to reposition the border.
• PressRepeat.

• PressBaseline.
• PressReposition.• Withmachineneedlepositionedatthestart
stitching point of right corner...• PressEnd Point. This will line up the border
with the corner.
• PressFollow. Move machine to left corner to make sure that the border lines up.
• PressQuilt.• PressRun. Verify settings.• PressProceed.
• PressFit. This will populate the area with tulips,butmaynotfilltheareafromedge to edge.
• PressFit again. This will turn it off.• PressStretch Width and Stretch Height.
Thisactionwillfillthearea.
• PresstheHorizontal“+ ”buttontoaddmore tulipsorthe“– ”buttontosubtract.Isitstretched too much making them too wide? Or are the tulips too skinny?
• PressBaseline.
• Youhavecreatedadesigntofitarectangular
area box, but you may not have placed your corners on the same plane as in the photo.
• Itmayneedtoberotatedslightlytofityour
corners.• PressRotation.• Movemachinetoendstitching
point of left corner.• Press2-Point Start.• Movemachinetostartstitching
point of right corner.

• Youhavedefinedyourquiltwidth.Nowyouneedtodefineyourquiltheight.Enterthequilt height in the Area Height box.
• PressRefresh. The whole quilt area is displayed on the screen in the purple box and the design is in the blue box.
• PressRepeat.• PressFit.• PressPoint to Point to join the repeated
designs.• PresstheStretch Width and Stretch Height
buttonstofillthearea.
• Toadjusttheverticaldistancebetweeneachrowpressthe“+“or“–“buttons.Youmayneed to use a negative value for some designs.
• Tosavethedesignbeforestitchingout, Press File, select Save.

Quilt Layout Edge-to-Edge• PressDesign.• PressFile.• PressOpen.• Doubletapon:D:Designs\HQ Designs\
Continuous Line\Clover Edge to Edge
• Verifythatthedesignhasthestartpoint at the top left.
• PressRotate, press Flip the design if needed.
• CreateanArea:PressDesign, press Area.• Movemachinetotopleftcornerofyour
quilt; position it just outside the edge of the quilt top.
• Pressthe2 Corner button
• Movemachinetothebottomrightcornerofthe throat space on the quilt top. Position machine just outside the right edge of the quilt top.
• Pressthe2 Corner button. Yourarea now appears as a purple box but it is not the complete quilt height. To lay out the design for the entire quilt adjust the area measurements.

• QuiltRow1.
• Afterthetieoff,themachinewilldisablemo-tors and allow the quilter to clip the threads.
• PressResume.
• Themachinewillmovetothestartpoint of the second row and take a pull-up stitch, (make sure you have Pull-up selected. Do not have Pull-up Auto Selected.)
• Motors are not engaged and you’re able to move the machine back to the second row start point.
• Dropneedleintofabricatstartpointof second row, which is where the pull-up stitch is and check that motors are disabled.
• Advancethequiltandplacesideclampsonquilt, and make sure the needle in the fabric is not being pulled out of position.
• TheSave Design screen will display. Navigate to the folder where you want yourfiletobesaved.
• Typethefilenameusingthekeyboarddisplayed then press Save to complete the process.
• Sincethequiltwaspositionedbyusingthearea, it is not necessary to reposition. If you feel you need a little adjusting of the design on the quilt, go to Design, Reposition, and use the positioning tools to reposition.
Start quilting your design.
• PressQuilt. Press Run.

• PressRun.
• Quiltsecondrowonyourquiltusingrow1ofthe design.
• RepeatstepsfromStart quilting your design section.
Remember! Row one is used continuously for stitching on the fabric, and Row 2 on the screen is used for positioning the next row as you move through the quilt.
• PressQuilt.
• PressReposition.
• Theneedleisstillinthedownpositioninthequilt which represents the start point of the second row.
• PressStart Point.
• Bastebothsidesofthequiltthroatspace.• PressCancel to cancel running the design.
NOTE: The design is now positioned and ready to stitch the second row in the fabric using the first row on the screen.

Creating a new Start Point and End Point• PressDesign.• PressFile.• PressOpen.• Doubletapon:D: Designs\HQ Designs\
Continuous Line\Leaves and Scrolls• PressQuilt.• PressNew Start/End.• Zoomintogetamorepreciseresult.• Dragthesliderorusethedirectionalarrows
to move the Start and End points.

• PressNew Start/End.
• PressStart Auto. This action turns the function on. Disable motors.
• Movemachinetothenearestpointonthedesign before the thread break.
• Youcanseethecrosshairsonthescreenatthe point in the design. Once you have the crosshairs positioned correctly, Press Start Auto. This action turns the function off and locks the start point.
• UsetheHalf Stitch button to pullup the bobbin thread.
Section 9
How to find a new Start Point when the Thread BreaksOnce you have created your quilt layout and have started quilting there are times that the thread may break or your bobbin runs out of threadandyouneedtofindanewstartpointtocontinue stitching.
• Fixthreadissuebyrethreadingorplacinganewfilledbobbininthemachine.
• Unpickthethreadsothatitisclosetoapoint.Leave a few stitches past the point so that the threads can overlap without a tie off.
• PressQuilt.

• PressDesign.
• PressRepostition.• PressStart Point. • Bastesidesofquilt.
NOTE: The design is now positioned and ready to stitch the second row in the fabric using the first row on the screen.
• PressQuilt.• PressRun.
• TurnoffthePullup on Resume and Tie off on Resume buttons.
• PressResume. The machine will continue to stitch out the design.
• Aftertherowhasstitchedout,themachinewill disable the motors and allow the quilter to clip the threads.
• Press Resume. The machine will move to the start point of the next row, and take a pullup stitch.
• Droptheneedleintothefabricatstartpointof row, which is where the pullup stitch is.
• Makesuremotorsaredisabled.• Advancethequiltandplacesideclampson
quilts, and make sure the needle in the fabric is not being pulled out of position. Baste the sides.
• Noticethepositionofthestartpoint.Itis positioned where the thread break was. It needs to be positioned at the beginning of row 2.
• PressCancel. • PressQuilt.• PressNew Start/End.
• PresstheleftJump Points arrow. Continue pressing the arrow until the green start point circle is at the top of the design layout.

Using Freehand to Stitch in the Ditch• PressDesign.• PressFreehand.• Positionthehoppingfoot/needleatthe
beginningoftheareayouwishto“stitch intheditch”.
• PressMark.• Movethehoppingfoot/needlealongtheditch
and press Mark each time the ditch deviates from straight.
• PressRun.
NOTE: At any point along the ditch, a Jump can be inserted and the machine will not stitch that area.
