n  A service of Palomar Health Downtown Campus, San Diego Radiosurgery treats cancers of the brain, spine, pancreas, prostate, kidney, liver and lung. We also treat certain other medical conditions like trigeminal neuralgia and arteriovenous malformations.

n  Our center uses a state-of-the-art radiosurgery platform called Novalis Tx®, which offers patients fast, accurate nonsurgical treatments for cancer and certain medical conditions. We were one of the first facilities in the country to have respiratory gating technology, allowing greater protection of normal tissue during treatment.

+Medical Director: Brian Volpp, M.D., M.P.H

n  Dr. Brian Volpp is a radiation oncologist at Palomar Health Downtown Campus, with a special interest in stereotactic body radiosurgery to treat tumors throughout the body, as well as integrative medicine.

n  Dr. Volpp has published research on spinal cord tumors and prostate cancer and has been primary investigator for an IRB-approved clinical trial in stereotactic radiosurgery for prostate cancer within both Palomar and Sharp Health systems.

+Radiation Oncologist: Lori A. Coleman, M.D.

n  Dr. Coleman is the Medical Director of radiation oncology at Palomar Health Downtown Campus in Escondido, California.

n  Dr. Coleman served as the Principal Investigator of San Diego Radiosurgery’s Phase 1 clinical trial to test stereotactic hypofractionated radiosurgery in the treatment of low-grade, early-stage prostate cancer. She is board certified in radiation oncology.
