Getting found 101


Title•Keep the title under 72

characters.

•This will ensure the full title is

visible in a search engine.

•Try to make the title have at

least 4 words

•Include the keyword phrase in

the title.

•Try to make the keyword

phrase as far to the left as

possible.


TitleFor example: "The reasons that homes

don't sell and expire and what you can do

about it." <= is a really bad title

It's to long, there are no keywords, etc.

"Selling Your Marcus Island Home - Did

your listing expire?" <= would be a better

title


Body•The body length should be

about 200 - 300 words.

•keyword phrase or keyword in

the text not more than 5.5% of

the total words on the page.

•This is called keyword density.

Do it to much and it is

considered keyword stuffing, the

Search Engine cousin of

spamming.

•But if you don't do it

enough, the search engines can

be sure what it is that your blog

post is about.


Heading tags

•H1 tags are automagically built

in to the title in Wordpress sites

•Use H3 tags to highlight your

keywords

•Using the H3 tags also makes it

easier on the readers eyes


Hyperlinks

•Include one hyperlink for every

120 words in your post/page.

•So if you do a 300 word post

you should probably have at

least 3 links.

•The hyperlinks should be going

to a webpage or blog post that is

relevant to the keywords that

you are highlighting.

•Don't be afraid to link to

external websites but don't

forget to link internally also.

getting your home sold in Denton Texas would

be the hyperlink.


Hyperlinks

This tells the search engine exactly what the page is

about that you are linking to and what is probably on

your page also. Do this for your internal blog posts

also. Don't be afraid to hyperlink back to old content.

BONUS TIP! Don't be afraid to go back in time and

hyperlink forward to newer content also.
