• Burgas: Waters with average mineral

degrees. It’s free entry and you'll be able to

relax.

• Major Square: It has been the city centre

for centuries. In this square are held fairs,

festivals and all kinds of cultural activities.

• Municipal Museum: In the beginning, it

was a noble’s family house but it was

adopted as a museum in 1987 and now

there are exhibitions of Galician’s artists.

The museum costs 2€.

• San Martiño’s Cathedral: Romanesque

Cathedral where are many chapels that you

should not miss.

• Santa Eufemia’s Church: Old Jesuit

convent’s church. It was builded in the

middle of the eighteenth century.

• “Alameda”: Although it is medieval,

nowadays is one of the places that still

retains the charm of the nineteenth

century.

• Ponte Vella: Roman bridge above Miño

River. It is banned for cars to ride over it.

Ourense is a Roman city, therefore many monuments are too.

Ourense is the best area for enjoy delicious gastronomic attractions, it offers a chance to get to know the region producing. There are a lot of bars & restaurants in the old quarter. We will recommend you some of them and their specialties.

2. Rey del Jamón (Lepanto Street) The completo which is croquette, omelet and bacon its speciality.

o Cachamuiña's damming: Following the Lonia River you will

find the Cachamuiña´s damming where you can take a path around the river made to enjoy the amazing views. And for sports lovers, there are a public outdoor gym..

o Monterrey: It's an outdoor sport centre thought

for all the family. There are a basketball and tennis court and football fields. In summer, the pools are open, and all of this just in a big park on top of the mountain.Free entry. Open every day from 10:00 to 21:00.

o Montealegre golf peach: Next to Monterrey we can find a

beautiful golf peach with 18 holes where you will enjoy a amazing day.

o Roman City of San Tomé: Over the city, at the peak of the

mountain are a antique ruins of a city from the Roman Ages. Is an exhibition the discovers ruins with information displays about the life 2.000 years ago.

o Rivela: If you go along Miño River , you can

find Rivela, which is a little village with a pleasant bar and restaurants where you can taste the delicious food from Ourense. Enjoying a beautiful river views.

•Opening Hours: Shops are generally open

from Monday to Saturdays all day from nine a.m. until eight or nine p.m.

•Post and email: Stamps can be bought at Post

Offices. Many hotels have internet access. Almost every bar has wi-fi conexion for free.

•Drinking Age: The legal age for buying alcohol

in Spain is 18 years old. If you want to buy alcohol you have to carry some identification with you. •Smoking: It is allowed to smoke in public places but it’s banned smoking in bars, restaurants, public transportation or clubs.

•Telephones: The international dialling code in

Spain is +34. Public telephones takes coins. In case of emergency you must call 112.

•TIC’s: There are TIC’s located in Padre Feijoó’s

Gardens and also in As Burgas’ spring.

•Emergencies: The Police Station is on the

Lagoas Street and it is opened 24 hours every day of the week. The Hospital is in the Ramón Puga Street and there are a couple of buses that will let you in the Hospital’s entrance.

•Transport: There are buses around the city.

Most of the pass every 20-30 minutes (Monday to Friday). In bank holidays the timetable is reduced. Also you can have a cab in one of the many cab’s stops.

•The train station is on the Eulogio Gómez

Franqueira Street and the bus station in Pino’s

Neighborhood.

•Rent a bicycle: To rent a bike you must go to

the Town Hall and signed in so they will give you a card that will allow you to take the bicycle in several points of the city.

•There is a public service called “Tren de las Termas” (the Thermal Train), which wil take you

on a journey through the old part of the city and along the right bank of the Miño, finishing in the thermal area of Outariz.

•Money: The unit of currency in Ourense is the

Euro (€). Most stores allow you to pay by credit card. You can find ATMs throughout the city which accept Visa, MasterCard or MaestroCard. If you need to make a currency exchange you can do it in a bank but it is suggested that you bring some cash in hand to avoid this inconvenience.
