Germany

• Before 1871 the area we call Germany had been

made up of many separate

states, Prussia was the

largest and strongest and

united all these German states into the German

Reich (empire).

• From 1888 Kaiser Wilhelm II

was in charge and he had

a lot of power, he could appoint or dismiss the

Chancellor and get rid of

the parliament (Reichstag)
