The Fashion School at Kent State University invites you to participate inits Kent State Fashion School/Reutlingen University Program!

Every spring term, up to five junior fashion design and fashion merchandising students are given an opportunity to study in Germany through an exchange program with Reutlingen University. Students will be able to register at Kent State University at their regular tuition rate.

WHY STUDY IN GERMANY?Germany is one of the leading economies of the world, having a very sophisticated and highly developed fashion industry and some of the top fashion schools in Europe. During our time there, we will visit and have extensive academic programming to learn more about all aspects of the fashion industry, visit important museums, palaces and monuments of Germany and tour leading department stores to learn more about their business models.

ELIGIBILITYUpon application to the program, students must be enrolled in 30000- and / or 40000-level fashion design and merchandising courses. Participants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA upon application, with a 3.0 GPA preferred.

PROGRAM COSTS AND FEESStudents pay a $60 Office of Global Education administrative fee and an HTH insurance fee that is required for all Kent State-sponsored study-away programs. Tuition rates are determined by a student’s in-state or out-of-state tuition status. Please refer to the Kent State tuition and fees schedule at www.kent.edu/bursar.

COURSE OFFERINGSCourses apply to Fashion Design and Merchandising degree requirements. Classes are in English, and all Reutlingen Exchange program participants must maintain full-time enrollment.

HOUSINGStudents can reside in one of Reutlingen University’s residence halls. All rooms are fully furnished, and utilities are included in the rent. For every room, a security deposit and a key deposit must be paid. Internet access is available via the university network or an alternative network.

APPLICATION INFORMATIONComplete the application form and submit it with the required essay and résumé by Sept. 30, 2017, for the spring 2018 program and Sept. 1, 2018, for the spring 2019 program. It is recommended that you have an up-to-date passport at the time of application.
