DUBLIN-DIARY

Saturday 9th

● We had to get up quite early in the morning. Our trip to the Berlin-airport started at about 6 o´clock. After we have had breakfast our airplane made the way to Dublin at 11:20am. After arriving in Ireland we went by taxi to our hotel in Leixlip. The Irish students were welcoming us in the lobby of the hotel, that was really lovely. We had lunch in the hotel-restaurant/-bar and got our hotel rooms. When the Italian, Spanish students arrived (at the hotel) we made a trip to Dublin downtown and there the Swedish students also joined our group. After a bit of sightseeing and shopping (the Irish were nice guides :)) we had dinner in a Chinese restaurant (which is called “Jimmy Chung´s“). After enjoying the meal and having some nice conversations with the other students we happily went back to our (very nice) hotel in Leixlip.

Sunday 10th

After a very nice breakfast (some students tried the typical Irish breakfast) we made our way to the Dalkey Castle and had a funny tour through the museum. On the top of the building we had a nice view over the surrounding but it was also very windy. Afterwards we went to a little, cute restaurant where we had hot soup and some nice sandwiches. There the Irish students gave their prepared lovely cake to Gregorio! Everyone was singing for him and enjoying this break.

Now we went on with our „Ireland trip“. Our next stop was the Heritage centre where we watched a movie about their history. Everyone wanted to get some fresh air so we went on a walk. There was a cold wind and some rain, so we were lucky to go back into the bus. Back in the hotel we had a very good 3 course menu and so we went to bed and slept very well.

Monday 11th

● We had a very nice breakfast in the hotel and after that we went to the school for the first time. All the students presented their work and showed the others what they had done in their home-countries. Then we had a nice lunch which was prepared and cooked by the Irish students. Finally we went to Dublin by the city bus for seeing the city and shopping souvenirs. In the evening we had some orientation problems but eventually we found the Irish pub. After we had a nice dinner, some students were not afraid to try Irish dancing. This was a great evening with everyone! :)

Tuesday 12th

In the morning (after breakfast) we went by bus to school. We kept on working on the different topics of our project. For lunch we went all together into a bar close to the school. The most special experience of the day was the storyteller in the afternoon. We were all impressed how he took us into his story.

Our next point was some work again and afterwards we presented what we had done and what we have to do in the future.

We had some freetime (some of us visited a shopping mall near the school). In the evening we were listening to the school-concert and the Comenius-project presented a song together. Some students from the other countries were not afraid to show their talents as well. Time went by so fast and sadly we had to say goodbye to the Irish students now :(.

Back in the hotel, we were thinking about the time in Ireland. This made us thankful that we could have been there but also sad because we had to leave soon.

Wednesday 13th

We really enjoyed our last breakfast in Ireland. We needed to say goodbye to the other students and get ready for our journey back home.Then we were picked up by a taxi to the airport. At the airport we had some time for buying last souvenirs and to drink our last Irish coffee. Goodbye Ireland!!
