WEATHERPROTECTEDFLUSH SWITCHESThe impact resistant flush mount-

ing weatherprotected switches aredesigned to fit standard patternmounting accessories with 84mmmounting centres (as listed in theMounting Accessories section).

Flush plates measure 115 x 73mmunless specified otherwise. Overallheight from mounting face is 24mm.

Single and Two Gang models areavailable. Conventional Clipsal 60Series switch mechanisms are usedand are marked ON and OFF.

They come complete with aweatherseal gasket and a mechanismshroud for additional protection. Formaximum weather protection the cableentry in the shroud should facedownward.

Standard configuration is horizontalbut by removing the mechanisms anddolly slides and replacing at 90°, verti-cal mounting is possible.

All units are designed for generaloutdoor lighting e.g. gardens, tenniscourts, carports and illuminating signs.

Products are Authority approved andcomply with AS1939 ‘Degrees of Protec-tion’ and all relevant tests specified inAS3133 and AS3100. Mines and EnergySouth Australia Approval S/1.

This product is primarily designedfor settings up to 10 minutes, but withcare, longer delays of up to 20 minutesmay be attainable. The factory settingis approximately 2 minutes.

This time switch operates on theair bleed principle and therefore it isnot possible to calibrate it too exact-ingly. The timing will vary slightly withmanufacturing tolerances, air tempe-ratures, relative humidity, and baromet-ric pressure.

It is ideal for timed operation oflighting, fans etc., from switch pointsexposed to the elements. A sturdyneoprene boot protects the timermechanism and a gasket is included toseal between the flushplate andmounting surface.

The 319HP fits all 84mm centremounting accessories. Standardoperation N.O. (N.C. also available).

Each switch is supplied with aSurface Mounting Box. A neoprene 'O'ring ensures perfect sealing between theplate and box.

There are ample entries in the base.Two 25mm plain, one 20mm plain andone 20mm screwed entry as well asone 25mm rear entry for back wiring.

The parts pack includes conduitplug, screw caps and a 563/2 connec-tor. Screw caps must be fitted toensure IP Rating.

WS229 SeriesThe most compact and versatile

weatherproof switch available is theWS229.

The enclosure has 20mm knockout entries on two sides for surfacecabling, and one in the rear for backwiring. A highly durable UV stabilisedmembrane covers an aperture thataccepts any 30 Series mechanism but

excludes dust and moisture to IP66.It is available standard with a 15A

mechanism or as an enclosure only toallow for other mechanism requirements.


Standard colours are White & Grey.

WSR SeriesWSR Series switches are designed

to fit 240 Series conduit boxes.Flush plate diameter is a compact

70mm while the overall height from themounting face is 25mm. The WSR226comes complete with a weathersealgasket and a mechanism shroud foradditional protection. For maximumweather protection the cable entry inthe shroud should face downward.

Products are Authority approvedand comply with AS1939 ‘Degrees ofProtection’ and all relevant testsspecified in AS3133 and AS3100.

Clipsal offer three STOP-STARTstations, all ruggedly built andpractical.

Ideal in dusty or dirty conditionsfor controlling motor starters on alltypes of equipment.

The Mounting Box dimensions are88mm high and 78mm wide overallheight is 64mm. Each switch issupplied with a neoprene 'O' ring toensure perfect sealing. The baseincludes three 20mm plain entries andtwo 20mm screwed entries. There arealso cut outs in the base to allow forback wiring. The base also includesfixed earth terminals.

All mechanisms offer both N./O. andN./C. terminals and are rated at 440V.

The WHS/WHT Series ofWeatherprotected Isolating Switches isa robust range of switches suitable forvirtually any external application.

Included in the range are single,double and triple pole switches from 20to 80 Amps. The base mounted mec-hanism provides for easier terminationand more wiring room. Switch dimen-sions are 165mm x 82mm with anoverall height of 85mm.

Fixed Earth and Neutral connectorbars with dual clamping screws pertunnel provide equal stripping lengthsand secure clamping for all cables.Terminal bore size is 5 x 6.6mm.

A safety feature for mountingswitches to metal structures is theinsulating caps that cover base

mounting screws to totally protect themfrom any live cables.

Dual 25mm screwed conduit entriestop and bottom (up to 55 amp.) allowsfour ways to surface wire the switch. 55amp. and above are also available with32mm entries top and bottom.

Each unit is supplied with screwedconduit plugs and screwed reducersfor easy connection to 25mm or 20mmconduits and screw caps. Screw capsmust be installed to ensure IP Rating.

The Impact Resistant base andcover will survive the hardest knocks inalmost any installation. The twosections are sealed with a one pieceweatherseal gasket.

For security, a 7mm diameter hole isprovided for padlocking the lever in theOFF position. Deep moulded barriersprotect the operating lever from physicalabuse or accidental switching.

Clipsal No 9 Series ‘Identicaps’will fit all screw holes for circuitidentification. All units are approved toAS3947-3 AC22.

A 5.7mm bore Earth Terminal isfixed in the impact resistant mountingbox. The box matches ClipsalWS226PB Series WeatherprotectedPush-Buttons.

The 255 Weatherproof MountingEnclosure Boxes convert standardrange Flush Switches and SwitchSockets into Weatherprotectedequivalents for permanent exterior use.

Clipsal 255 Series moulded boxesare all insulated and do not requireearthing. A clear impact resistant pad-lockable flap is provided to preventunauthorised use of the enclosedaccessory.

Boxes can be surface mounted orsemi-recessed. A special rigid P.V.C.surround (255Z) is available for usewhere boxes are semi-recessed intofinished brickwork.

Installation of the 255 Series canbe completed by back wiring andsurface wired through 20mm and25mm screwed conduit entries in thetop or bottom of box.

Back wire through rear entry cut-outs. Spare insulated plugs areprovided with each box to seal entriesnot in use. Washers are supplied inboth entries to ensure perfect sealing.

The Catalogue Number 225provides similar protection to architraveoutlets and intermediate switch plates.
