THE TRIPS – WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE

Two Trips Jacksonville Beach Florida: Beaches Habitat for

Humanity Tuscaloosa, Alabama: Community Collaborations

20 volunteers on each trip 16 student participants 2 student leaders 2 GT faculty/staff advisors

Sunday, March 18 – Saturday, March 24

TRIP DETAILS – JACKSONVILLE, FL

Lodging: youth group house provided by Habitat (close to the beach)

Work 5 days on the work site 8am-4pm Food: Habitat provides meals on-site, we

cook the rest of the our meals at the house Daily Reflections Group Activities after Habitat

Visit city of Jacksonville Laser tag, Go-carts Frozen Yogurt The Beach!!!!

TRIP DETAILS – TUSCALOOSA, AL

Lodging: simulated Emergency Evacuation Shelter provided by Community Collaborations

Work 5 days: type of work determined by group preferences and Community Collaborations

Potential group projects: Rebuilding homes, animal shelters Boys and Girls Club, after school programs Environmental projects, parks

Food: 3 meals each day provided by Community Collaborations Daily Reflections Community speaker

COSTS AND FUNDRAISING

Estimated total cost: $250 (does NOT include additional afternoon activities)

Alcohol and drug free trip Each individual participates in fundraising for

trips Minimum electronic use – be a part of the

Interviews will tentatively take place the week of February 6th

Participants will be notified by Friday, February 10th

$100 deposit due Friday, Feb 17 to confirm participation When deposit is submitted,

participant will sign agreement indicating understanding about payment deadlines
