• He was born in February 1732 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was born to a wealthy family. When he was 11, his father died. George had two step brothers. He dreamed of how to be a gentleman. He copied a book on manners because he wanted to be a gentleman. He took a lot of notes when he was a kid.

• He was 6’0 tall with reddish brown hair and had gray-blue eyes. He was a graceful horse back rider. He learned how to dance; he was good. He became a major in the army in 1752. He was 16 on his first surveying job. When he was 20 men still followed his orders. He knew the frontier better than any one else in Ohio and the Indians to.

• George wanted to join the British army but his mom made him stay in the United States. He was sick when the Indians and French attacked. He fought as hard as he could every time he was in the war. He learned tips in the French and Indians war. He was in charge of Virginia’s army. In 1758 he was very ill and came home to Mount Vernon. His home was very run-down when he was in the army.

• George really needed money to improve his land. He would visit Martha when he got the time. By the end of 1758, George and his troops pushed the French out of Ohio valley. He left the army determined to find a new path. George got married and had over a 100 plus slaves at mount Vernon. He said when Martha dies the slaves would be free. He got up every morning and had a glass of ice tea and 3 hoecakes.

• In 1768 George attended 1 horse race, 2 balls, 3 plays and 50 foxhunts wow! George learned how the colonial government works. They voted for George to be the general. In 1774 he represented Virginia in the first continental congress. In1775 he was chosen to command the American army.

• He was loyal , brave and had military experience. He didn’t take any money for what he did. When he arrived in Massachusetts he was disappointed. George lead his men to New Jersey. He didn’t have a day off in a year an a half. He knew if he took his army into a major battle he would lose. He did what the Indians did to hide behind the trees in battles.

• In 1776 on Christmas night George took his men across the frozen Delaware lake and did a sneak attack on the British. George told his men to steal cattle for food in the winter at fort valley, Pennsylvania . He won the war at York town, Virginia. George rode his horse Welson home after the Revision war.

• He arrived at Mount Vernon on Christmas Eve. George was in the army for 8 years in a row. George traded his army clothes for farmers clothes. He never had children of his own. He attended the constitutional convention and helped form a new government for the United States. He was chosen to run the meeting.

• He sat very quietly at the meeting. George was the first President of the United states on Apr. 30, 1789 at age 57. George was president for 4 years and got re-elected for 4 more years in 1793. He made sure when he was president that they wasn’t a war again.

• He lost all of his teeth from cracking Brazil nuts. Then he got his teeth from cows and hippo ivory. On Dec. 13, 1799, it snowed and rained. His throat was very dry and sore. He could barley speak it hurt so bad. He had trouble breathing he ran a fever. He died about at 12:00 A.M. on Dec. 14, at age 67.

• He was buried at his beloved Mount Vernon. He came threw again and again for his country. He’s on the dollar bill. He’s on Mount Rushmore. The Washington Monument is there in his honor. He’s the most celebrated person. He also refused a third term as president. He truly is father of his country.
