Comedy Crazy for You to Enchant Audiences at The
Round Barn Theatre
NAPPANEE, Indiana—July 11, 2016— The beautiful music of immortal
songsmiths, George and Ira Gershwin will remind audiences of simpler
times at The Round Barn Theatre stage with the Tin-Pan Alley inspired
Musical Crazy for You. This riotously entertaining production is sure
to have audiences singing along to over two dozen Gershwin Brothers
classics, such as “Embraceable You”, “I Got Rhythm”, and “Let’s Call
the Whole Thing Off” and enchanting theatre-goers with a classic blend of music, laughter,
dancing, and sentiment.
Crazy for You tells the story of Bobby Child, a talented dancer, and heir to a banking fortune
who desperately wants to follow his dreams of being a Broadway Star and avoid the family
business (much to the chagrin of his arranged fiancé, and his over-bearing mother). When his
dreams and his banking career intersect and he is asked to shut down the tiny Gaiety Theatre in
Deadrock, Nevada, he meets and instantly falls for Polly, the tenacious and spunky owner of The
Gaiety. Featuring a trio of singing cowboys, a bevy of show girls, and much more, Crazy for
You will delight and entertain.
The musical premiered on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre on February 19, 1992, and ran for
1,622 performances. This vibrant and enchanting musical will be directed and choreographed by
RBT alumni Derek Martin who is making his directorial debut at Amish Acres. Julie Lyn Barber
returns to The Round Barn Theatre after her triumphant turn as Music Director for All Shook Up
earlier this season.

Crazy for You stars returning alumni Matt Casey as Bobby Child, and 2016 new core company
member, Kaitlyn Casanova as Polly Baker. Matt was most recently seen on the Joseph Stein
Stage as the title character in 2014’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and
Kaitlyn is currently wowing audiences with her sensitive and beautiful portrayal of Katie Yoder
in the 30th Anniversary production of Plain and Fancy.
Crazy for You opens on Tuesday, July 26 and runs through Sunday, August 28 with 2 p.m.
matinees and 8 p.m. evening performances. Theatre tickets can be combined with Amish Acres
famous family style Threshers Dinner or a special Theme Dinner served on Friday, August 19th.
Following Crazy for You and running in repertory with the 30th anniversary of Plain and Fancy
will be Fiddler on the Roof. Fall Harvest Days will bring the Tony Award winning drama, The
Miracle Worker to the Joseph Stein Stage, and for the Holidays, everyone’s favorite “festive”
indulgence, A Christmas Story, The Musical!
Amish Acres Historic Farm & Heritage Resort is now open Tuesday through Saturday from 11
a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering tours of the historic
house and farm, farm wagon rides, documentary films, demonstrations, and famous Family
Style Threshers Dinner.
