Geonames database in 2009/2010 Main changes of its structure
Before 2009
• Database records represented map lettering of the Basic Map 1:10 000
• Geonames features had no geometry of its own
• Geonames features had no database relation to the corresponding ZABAGED ones
• Both the databases were not compatible in the past
Since 2010
• Database records represent named places in accordance with INSPIRE policy
• Geonames features have geometry of its own
• Geonames features have database relation to the corresponding ZABAGED ones
• Both the databases can be fused together in the future
