GEOMETRY  PROJECT  

GRID  DRAWING  

In  this  project,  students  will  pracBce  their  drawing  skills  by  being  given  a  grid  that  is  superimposed  over  a  drawing.        They  will  enlarge  the  drawing  by  looking  at  each  square  in  the  grid  and  redrawing  just  that  porBon  on  the  corresponding  square  on  the  larger  grid.    (For  example  the  students  might  find  square  1D  in  the  small  grid.    Then  they  draw  exactly  what  is  there  in  square  1D  of  the  large  grid.)    Students  that  say  they  CAN’T  DRAW  will  see  that  if  they  focus  on  one  part  of  the  picture  at  a  Bme,  they  actually  CAN  DRAW!    This  is  an  excellent  geometry  acBvity  for  students  to  learn  about  scale  drawing  and  similarity.    This  acBvity  can  be  set  up  for  differenBated  learners,  as  some  of  the  drawings  are  much  easier  than  others.    Graphics  by  kpmdoodles.com
