Geometric DFX - Installation Procedure

Prerequisites

Make sure that previous version of Geometric DFX has been uninstalled if any.

Installation

Option - 1. Using installer (Recommended)

A. Standard Installation: To install Geometric DFX on local computer

For an x32 operating system, run GeomDFX_v2.0_x32_Setup.exe file to install Geometric DFX. For an x64 operating system, run GeomDFX_v2.0_x64_Setup.exe file to install Geometric DFX.

The executable first searches for the prerequisites on the target workstation. If prerequisites are not found, it will first install those and then launch the installation for product.

Click on ‘Finish’ button to complete the Installation process successfully.

Option - 2. Without installer

Please contact [email protected] for detailed instructions.

License Configuration

To configure the License for Geometric DFX, Open the License Manager from Start-> ALL Programs -> Geometric DFX -> License Manager.

One of the following options needs to be chosen

1) Request License 2) Setup License

1) Request License

If you have already received an evaluation License file, move to Option 2, otherwise follow the following steps.

o Fill in all the fields and send it via Outlook or click “Other” to save the information in

a text file and mail it to [email protected] o Once you receive license on mail, Geometric DFX can be activated using the steps

provided in Setup License.

Note: You won’t be able to run Geometric DFX till the license is activated.

2) Setup License

If license file already exits, then directly choose second option i.e. Setup License and perform steps mentioned below.

Steps:

Activate Node-locked license

1) After getting the license, click on “Browse…” button to select the valid license file and click on ‘Apply’ button.

2) Click on the “Authorized Modules” tab to see which all modules are available.

3) Click on “OK” button to complete the process.

Activate Floating license

Steps:

1) After getting the license, click on “Server Settings” tab of DFMPro License Manager. 2) Click on “Browse…” button and select floating license file path. 3) Click on “Install DFMPro license service” button. 4) Click on “Start” button. 5) Click on “Apply” button.

6) Now click on “License Setup” tab on DFMPro License Manager. 7) Select “Set Server Host name and Port number for floating license” check box. 8) Provide “Server Host name”.

9) Click on the “Authorized Modules” tab to see which all modules are available.

10) Click on “OK” button to complete the process.

Once DFMPro License is configured properly, Authorization will show Succeeded status.

License configuration steps can be skipped in following situation

1) License is already configured with previous release installation 2) License configuration needs to be done after some time

User clicks on ‘Finish’ button by selecting any of the above options, Installation process will completed successfully.

Standard Installation: To install Geometric DFX on local computer

In this scenario, Geometric DFX installer is copied to the user’s computer. Launch the installer of Geometric DFX and proceed as directed.

On arriving at the following screen click the ‘Next’ button, it will show End-User License Agreement page.

After reading the terms and conditions shown in the End-User License Agreement page, click ‘I Agree’ button. Set the destination folder path for the installation of Geometric DFX product and database files. User can specify desired folder path by clicking the ‘Change’ button.

After selecting destination folder, click the ‘Next’ button. Select languages to be installed. The English language is always installed. Select the additional languages (if required) from the list and click the ‘Next’ button.

Click the ‘Install’ button to continue installation or click the ‘Back’ button for going back. User can click ‘Cancel’ button to abort the installation any time during installation.

Click the ‘Finish’ button to complete Geometric setup wizard.
