The Earth has two major land masses. North America is on Pangea, near the equator. Gondwana, the other land mass, is near the South Pole. It is covered by ice.

Huge swamps of giant ferns and tree-like plants cover the land. It is hot, but temperatures are not too different than

they are today.

Sharks are similar to the ones today. Many roam the vast seas. It is the “Golden Age of

Sharks.”

Also in the sea are “crinoids”—a tiny marine invertebrate with a calcium carbonate shell.
