INTRODUCTION

A horizontal loop electromagnetic survey was carried out over a property owned by Falconbridge Nickel Mines Limited during the period of October 12 to November l, 1982. this property is located in Heenan and Marion townships, province of Ontario.

The purpose of this H.E.M. survey was to locate and define in the field conductive zones already detected by an Input Airborn survey.

PROPERTY. LOCATION AND ACCESS

The property is located at 60 miles South west of the town of Timmins, along Woman River in Heenan and Marion townships, province of Ontario.

The property includes several claims which arc listed at the ?nd of this report.

Access to the property is possible by plane from Yvanhoe Lake located along Highway 101 at 100 kilome ters West of the tpwn of Timmins. From Yvanhoe Lake, it takes approximately one half (j) hour (50 km) to fly to the property.

GEOPHYSICAL WORK

During the period of October 12 to November l, 1982, a horizontal loop electromagnetic (H.E.M.) survey wa^ carried out over 200 foot grid systems.

A tptal of 34 miles was surveyed with the electromagnetic horizontal loop method, using an Apex Maxmin II, operating at frequencies of 888 and 3,555 Hz with a co|i l separation of 400 feet. Readings were taken at 100 foot intervals, with some details at 50 foot on the anomalies. Calibration of the instrument was done before getting on the property, on non-conductive areas.

DISCUSSION ON THE METHOD

The horizontal loop electromagnetic method is capable of delineating zones of conductivity that could represent, but not necessarily, massive con centrations of minerals having metallic conductive pro perties. The comnjon minerals are pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, nickel (but not sphalerite) and graphite. In certain areas, the overburden is a conductor and this may require a grea,t experience to di fferientiate these various sources of conductivity.

In presence of material having a high magnetic susceptibility, the in-phase component of a H.E.M. survey is affected which changes the shape of the anomaly.

DESCRIPTION AND ^NTERPRETATION

On the H:E.M. map we have located the main axes with a darker line while the weaker conduc tive axes or the doubtful ones, were defined with a lighter line. The conductive areas are defined with hatchured lines.

Many conductive axes were located on the map and in order to simplify the presentation of these axes we have described the main conductive axes in a tabulated form which you will find at the end of this report. The magnetic survey which was previously done by Falconbridge Nickel was used to find out if there was any magnetic association with the H.E.M. anomaly. The weaker H.E.M. anomaly axes are not described but are indicated on the map in case it may help to define the direction of weak conductive minerals. However, these may also be due to conductive overburden.

Based on the geophysical results many anomalies are strong enough to deserve a diamond drill hole. However, some may be explained in the field by trenching, and a geological mapping along these conduc tors will certainly change our recommendations on the diamond drilling program.

- 4 -

In first priority, we will recommend to drill a geological section near the line 294 E in qrder to intersect anomalies nos.10, 11 and 14. This seems to be the best geophysical bet. However, many qthers deserve to be drilled and we are giving our recommendations in annex. Some anomalies have to be detailed before drilling because they were detected at the limit of the property and/or because we do not know their direction.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Based on the present geophysical results, many diamond drill holes {at least 7) should be performed on this property. Before proceeding with the diamond drilling program, we should do some detailed geophysical wprk, geological mapping and sampling along the H.E.M. anomaly axis. This may change the recommended diamond drilling program.

Respectfully submitted,

ermont Lavoi'e, Ph.DT

Enclosed are two copies of a Notice of Intent with statements listing a reduced rate of assessment work credits to be allowed for a technical survey. Please forward one copy to the recorded holder of the claims and retain the other. In approximately fifteen days from the above date, a final letter of approval of these credits will be sent to you. On receipt of the approval letter, you may then change the work entries on the claim record sheets. For further information, if required, please contact Mr. R.J. Pichette at 416/965-4888.

Notice of Intent

for Technical Reports

1985 04 17

2.7756/30/85

An examination of your survey report indicates that the requirements of The Ontario Mining Act have not been fully met to warrant maximum assessment work credits. This notice is merely a warning that you will not be allowed the number of assessment work days credits that you expected and also that in approximately 15 days from the above date, the mining recorder will be authorized to change the entries on his record sheets to agree with the enclosed statement. Please note that until such time as the recorder actually changes the entry on the record sheet, the status of the claim remains unchanged.

If you are of the opinion that these changes by the mining recorder will jeopardize your claims, you may during the next fifteen days apply to the Mining and Lands Commissioner for an extension of time. Abstracts should be sent with your application.

If the reduced rate of credits does not jeopardize the status of the claims then you need not seek relief from the Mining and Lands Commissioner and this Notice of Intent may be disregarded.

If your survey was submitted and assessed under the "Special Provision-Performance and Coverage" method and you are of the-opinion that a re-appraisal under the "Man-days" method would result in the approval of a greater number of days credit per claim, you may, within the said fifteen day period, submit assessment work breakdowns listing the employees names, addresses and the dates and hours they worked. The new work breakdowns should be submitted direct to the Land Management Branch, Toronto. The report will be re-assessed and a new statement of credits based on actual days worked will be issued.
