Data Types

• Text (alphanumeric)• Number

• With conventional zero (e.g. temperature)• With real zero (e.g. precipitation)

Text and nominal and ordinal numbers can only be sorted

No statistic evaluation (such as central values or dispersion

parameters) is allowed, except for the evaluation of the modal class

Cardinal numbers with real zero can be submitted to full statistic analyses

Cardinal numbers with conventional zero don’t allow ratios

(e.g. 20°C is not the double of 10°C)
