Name of Organisation
In 1947, Dr Robert Pierce, an American Missionary, travelled to Korea and
witnessed the many hundreds of people who had to go without food, shelter and
clothing on a regular basis. Afterwards in early 1950 Dr Pierce created an
orphanage for the abandoned/orphaned during the Korean War in Korea. DrPierce then began fundraising, after his return to the US, to expand his
organisation further in Asia, and in the late 1950, World Vision was founded and
established.
Aims and Objectives
World Visions aim is to eliminate poverty and its causes. World Vision is devoted
to improving the lives of the poor, supporting disaster relief organisations and
the promotion of justice. World Vision aims to make the world a better place and
giving people a better quality of life.
Role Of The Organisation
World Vision provides many people with access to clean water and food as well
as education for the children who arent as fortunate. World Visions work is
mostly project-based.
Programs
Sponsor a Child
Sponsor a child is a program which involves a monthly donation from someone
who is willing and can afford to donate approximately $43 to a specific child each
month. This program is being undertaken globally.
Sponsor a child exists to improve the quality of life for children all around the
world.

starting from $85. This program is being undertaken in Mozambique as its main
focus. Multiplying gift appeal exists to

Effectiveness Of The Organisation
Sponsor a child has helped many children all around the world; it has helped
them get access to clean water, food, education, healthcare and income-
generating activities. I think this program should continue in the future since
there are so many people who are willing to and want to help these children who
need the sponsorship.
Multiplying Gift Appeal has aided hundreds of people in Mozambique by
distributing life-saving food and relief essentials. I think this program should
continue in the future considering the amount of people it helped to go through
such devastating times of flood and drought.
Smiles has put numerous smiles on children of all countries, it has helped
children get the essential items they need. I think this program should not
continue but rather, World Vision should put more effort into advertising Child
Sponsorship since these two programs are similar in their aim.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I think that World Vision is a very successful Global Organisation
and they are slowly achieving their goal to eliminate poverty and its causes.
