Lodging and transportation to San Francisco, California

Upon visiting Kayak.com, my friend and I searched different rates that combined both flight and hotel prices through this particular website and found rates that were affordable. Our total cost for both lodging and transportation totaled $5,323.60.

MUIR WOODS

• Muir Woods is a well known national monument location in California.

• This protected forest contains hundreds of redwood sequoia trees that have been preserved for thousands of years.

• We will choose to hike the nature trail while taking a scenic tour of the redwood park. The cost of admission for this attraction is $7.00 per person.

FISHERMAN’S WHARF: PIER 39

• Fisherman’s Wharf is the home of San Francisco’s fishing fleet for over a century and a quarter.

• This location is world famous for its wide varieties of seafood, specifically the Dungeness crab.

• We will be entertained by the sights of the sea lions that arrive on the docks of Pier 39, partake in one of the restaurants that offer the famous entrees as well.

Fisherman’s Wharf: Fireworks Display

• While at Fisherman’s Wharf, we will be entertained on July 4th by a fireworks cruise. This cruise will last 2 ½ hours and cost $140.00 per person.

July 4th: Pier 39: Eats

• We will eat at the Fog Harbor Fish House at Pier 39 for dinner.

• We will order two different appetizers which will be the:

• Blue cheese garlic bread for: $8.00

• Red chili garlic shrimp: $14.00

• I will order the crab cake entrée for: $21.00

• My friend will order the pan seared chicken breast for: $18.00

• We will drink water with our meals.

YERBA BUENA GARDENS

This attraction will be free. We will visit the MLK waterfall at Yerba Buena Gardens as well as some of the other visual attractions that are located on the property.

Alcatraz Island and San Francisco Ferry Tour

• This fun tour of Alcatraz will explore the surrounding scenery and main attractions of San Francisco.

• This tour is priced at only $79.00 per person.

• The tour includes a ferry ride over to the infamous Alcatraz prison.

• This price includes both hotel pick-up and drop off as well as a travel guide alongside the trip.

Take me out the ballgame!

• My friend and I will be watching a baseball game at the Giants stadium, AT&T ballpark in San Francisco.

• We have reserved two tickets on row E for a total price of $178.25 each.

• After total fees have occurred, our adventure for this particular evening will cost $410.50.

San Francisco Rocket boat Ride

This speedboat ride rushing through the waters of San Francisco of about 50 MPH rides past the cities most popular attractions such as Treasure Island, Bay Bridge, and more! This 30 minute excursion not only includes rock and roll music on the boat, but also live narration from trained individuals.

This rate guarantees all these features for only $25.00 per person!

San Francisco “Ride The Ducks” Tour

This amphibious experience allows me and my friend to explore San Francisco from both a land and water experience. This Duck Tour vehicle is crafted from the WW II DUKW. Not only does this adventure cruise McCovey Cove, but strolls the streets and neighborhoods of San Francisco as well. Only $29.00 per person!

Chinatown Walking Tour

We will take a tour of Chinatown discovering the unique atmosphere and culture that surrounds this popular attraction in SF. We will explore a 2-block long alley rich with history as well as view a authentic Buddhist temple. We will also enjoy a 10-course treat will lunch. This treat will only cost $100.00 per person!

Transportation throughout San Francisco, CA

We will purchase City Pass tickets as a means for transportation throughout SF instead of renting a car. The city pass will allow for us to ride the public cable cars as well as the muni public transportation system unlimited for 7 days. We will plan accordingly and use the City pass tickets for longer distance attractions and walk to closer attractions. The total cost per person is $86.00. The total cost for two people is $172.00.

Lombard Street TourWe will both experience a guided talking tour car rental at our own pace as we explore Lombard Street, the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, and Ocean Beach. This self guided tour for two people costs a very reasonable price of only $54.00 for two people.

Golden Gate Bridge: Bike Tour

My friend and I will cruise on bike to the Golden Gate Bridge for a 3-hour guided bike tour. We will discover the beauty of the coastal towns and have the opportunity to explore Sausalito and its unique character. A complimentary ferry ticket from Sausalito to San Francisco is also included for only $119.98 for two people.

One of our meals will come from Bistro Boudin, the famous bread company in San Francisco! We will both order a sandwich on their famous bread.

Fred’s Coffee Shop

Me and my friend will both eat breakfast at Fred’s Coffee Shop. This coffee shop is known for its breakfast and lunch platters. Serving french toast, pancakes, omelets, and huge pancakes, this location is affordable for those on a budget. The seating at this shop allows for strangers to sit at any of the five tables.

A night at the Academy of Sciences Museum

This package includes a 1 hour behind the scenes tour of the science museum as well as access to the four story rainforest. We will also view the museums rare gem and mineral collection as well as interact with some of the museums scientists. A low price of only $12.00 per person!

What would be a vacation without pizza?

We will each have a slice of deep dish pizza for dinner. Only $3.50 a slice. Who can beat a dinner for only $7.00?

Everyone needs a little R & R

On some days of our vacation, we will simply lounge by the heated pool and feel the suns warm rays. At night, we will gather for social events around the pools fire pits. This option will allow us to have an enjoyable time while also saving money.

Everybody looks great in SF, right?

In order to get ready for the night life and being around the beautiful people in San Francisco, we will spend some parts of our days working out in the gym that our hotel offers. This is one picture from the hotels website. Once the night draws closer, we want to be sure we’re noticed. This fitness center will have all we need to make sure this happens!

Looks like a restaurant, right? Well maybe so, but it’s our hotel! We will eat some of our breakfast meals here when we choose to stay in close proximity of our hotel to snack and have other refreshments throughout the day to save on expenses!

An outdoor movie? What can top that?

Oh yes! Can you believe it? Now guess how much it costs? Keep guessing… you got it! FREE to the public!

This event is a 60-minute, one-ring circus from Circus Bella that features aerial acrobatics, madcap clowning, balancing feats on slack rope, rola bola, and more.

CABLE CAR SIGHTSEEING TOUR… All Aboard!

For a cheap low rate of only $35.00 per person, my friend and I will have the opportunity to tour the city on the world famous cable cars!

AND IN CONCLUSION…

Since my friend and I will spend well below our $10,000 budget, we can now make the most of our vacation by purchasing different souvenirs from all across our different journeys through San Francisco, California to take home to our friends and family! We can even donate some of our extra allotted amount to the different charities in the Golden Gate City. What could be better than that?
