Active Ingredient
The recommended dosage for the treatment of various indications is given below:Atrophy of the Lower Urogenital Tract: The recommended dosage is 4mg to 8mg per day for the first weeks, followed by a gradual reduction, based on response to the treatment, until a maintenance dosage (e.g. 1mg to 2mg per day) is reached.

Recommended Dosage
Climacteric Complaints such as Hot Flushes and Night Sweating: The recommended dosage is 4mg to 8mg per day during the first weeks, followed by a gradual reduction. The lowest effective dosage should be used. In case of long-term treatment in women with an intact uterus, monitoring of the endometrium or, alternatively, concomitant use of a progestagen is recommended.
A Diagnostic Aid in case of a Doubtful Atrophic Cervical Smear: 2mg to 4mg per day for 7 days before taking the next smear.
Recommended Dosage
Infertility due to Cervical Hostility:The recommended dosage is in general 1mg to 2mg per day on days 6 to 15 of the menstrual cycle. However, for some patients dosages as low as 1mg per day are sufficient, whereas others may need up to 8mg per day. Therefore, the dosage should be increased each month until an optimal effect on the cervical mucus is obtained.
