I think that the colours contrast very well because it’s not too babyish it’s formal
and nice at the same time. The fonts used are suitable and stand out. People
would read them and then know what it’s all about, so it is good advertisement. I
think the title is very big and normally in other magazines the singer/actress
overlaps the title which I don’t think is very suitable. I think it’s better if the whole
title is showing.
The target audience for Vogue
are women in their late twenties
to thirties. They read it because
of the fashion tips, what’s all the
new gossip about. So it mainly
attract women because a man
would not really care about girl
fashion
The Purpose is to show the
target audience about the new
fashion and has tips. Also they
have actresses and singers on
the cover so they talk about
them which people would be
interested in. The actress
shown is called Emma Stone.
The masthead ‘Vogue’ stays
the same; the font and writing
style don’t change. Sometimes
they change the colour for the
person who is being advertised
and what they are wearing so it
contrasts.
They have different writing styles and
font’s size to make it look attractive.
The fonts used are mainly Italic and
bold. The font size is approximately
from 12-36. Also the colours used
for the text in this magazine are,
pink, black and white and they do
contrast. It also looks very
professional.

The title stands out
as the background of
the cover, is black
and it is white which
highlights. Has the
largest font.
The font style
stays the same
throughout the
whole page. It
probably would
stay this way
with the whole
magazine as it
looks original
There are not many
colors used. Too
many would make it
look childish and I
think it should stay
the same way
through the whole
magazine
There is one main image at the
bottom of the page, takes up about a
third of the page.

Images: There are five images used in this contents page. Four of these are the same size and slightly overlap each other and are going down in a column. I think they look interesting and make me want to read into the magazine more. The pictures were taken outside; they all go in well together. There has been a kind of shadow effect used in the images for them to stand out.
The background contains an image of student’s outdoors. It’s been brightened so that we can see the text.
Colour: Important information would be highlighted. The title and date are coloured in red which I think is a good idea, main information has been shown easily even though the date is at the bottom of the page. The text is in black which is really good as it looks formal and I think if there was more colourused in the text, it would look childish. Especially as it is a school contents page.
Fonts and Font size: The title has the largest font size to stand out, but being a contents page it does not need to be as large as the front cover title. I think 40 would be the largest font size. This example of a contents page font size looks about 36. The text underneath the title has to be normal size to look formal but not to look boring. Sub headings would be about 14-20 and the text with them, about 12-14. The text can’t be too crowded as it looks boring and no one would bother to read it. A good thing to do is use paragraphs to space all the different sections out. The text throughout the whole page has the same font, some put in bold and some not. The content page should not have much information, just the sub headings of what the magazine will contain.

My magazine cover
I created my own school
magazine cover
Masthead- Stands out
the most. It looks a lot
more effective as the girls
clothing is blue and
black.
Subheadings I didn’t
want it to look plain
and boring and the
colors in the
background of the
image go well with
them.
Image used as
background. The place
in which the 9image
was took was the
library as it seems
educational.
The school’s slogan
beneath masthead. It did
not need to stand out as
much as the title.
My contents Page
For the school magazine
In my contents page I
decided to use two
columns
Important information
needs to stand out, used
BOLD text for the date
and title.
Two images, one in
each column
I took this picture, it’s of
the head teacher in her
office working. I took this
as it links to the
contents.
I took this picture of
the school walk
because its
recognizable to
students.
The text and title are
in dark blue as I
wanted it to link to
the front cover.
The heading ‘Contents Page’ has the largest
font size as people would clearly be aware of
the page purpose.
