General safety

Powered mechanisms

- if Hlid ≤ 1 m from the ground and Weight lid > 0,25 kg = safety system

In case of powered mechanisms (gaz lifts, springs, …) the movement of the mobile part should stay under control, and should have a short amplitude < 20 cm.

To inform - the product is by defect defined for a domestic use. If possibility of collective use, to mention it and check that the product is apt for this use (tests to be done according to specific standards)

Assembling / connections - conception - no flash, no edge or sharp zone, no opened extremity tube.

- no moving nipping zone, foresee spaces upper than 18 mm between the attainable mobile parts

- mobile parts - no deliberate dissociation of the connections and assembling

Toxicity / suffocation - upholstering access - no direct access to the upholstering (foam…)

- Use of earth feathers' birds (chicken..) max : 5%

- the fibres polyester flakes pillows have to be included into a compartmentalisation

- confinement - the maximum force to be applied on a closing element in order to go out a closed volume is 50 N

- If not, the closed volume should have, at least, 2 ventilation opening, with a cumulated surface > 650 mm2, with a minimum distance of 150 mm.

This requirement doesn’t concern the removable elements.

6 – DEFINITION RIGHT CORNER / LEFT CORNER These definitions concern the sofa with the possibility of right corner or left corner.

The designation right corner or left corner is done by the position of the corner when staying in front of the sofa.

5.1. Right corner The corner is at the right, when the user is in front of the sofa.

5.2. Left corner The corner is at the left when the user is in front of the sofa.

7 – LABEL ON THE PRODUCT

All the units of upholstering products (sofa, studio-couch, armchair, office armchair, relax armchair, …) should be labelled with a specific label on the product, that will assure the identification of the product.

This label should be un-removable, discrete, invisible during the normal use, but easily accessible (without dismantling).

If the product is multi parcel, each component of each parcel should have its own label.

The label should indicate:

• the Conforama code

• the name of the product

• the Purchasing Order

• the ID (Identification number)

• the colour batch (textile and leather)

The ID should be different from the P.O. The ID is the identification of the article. It could be done with the P.O, the Conforama Code, the date of packaging, the order number of packaging. All other individual ID, done by the supplier is also acceptable.

The position of the label on the product should be quoted on the Assembling Instruction.

In addition, the warning “In case of claim, thank you to transmit the information of the label fixed on the article”.

8 – REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ELECTRICAL PARTS 8-1 General All the electrical parts (including Audio, Video, …) should be in compliance with the requested standards. The standards for Audio, MP3, MP4, TV, DVD players / recorders, Video … are listed in the part “Appliances G2” on the home page for the brand’s Minima Quality website. The assembling instruction and the user’s instruction should be in the language of the country of destination. These documents should be transmitted to the Quality Manager of the concerned SISL sourcing office for validation. These documents should be also transmitted to the Quality Manager: 1. Scheme of kit in French 2. User Manual in French 3. CE supplier declaration in French 4. MFI Licence of APPLE Inc, if concerned 5. Audio Technical File 6. Bluetooth test report (accredited laboratory) , if concerned 7. Certificate of EMC, LVD (accredited laboratory) 8. LVD test report (accredited laboratory) 9. RoSH test report (accredited laboratory) 10. Transformer test report - EN 61558 (accredited laboratory) 11. REACH test report (accredited laboratory) This list is not exhaustive and should be adapted t o the nature of the electrical part.

8-2 Electrical parts for RECLINER and RELAX sofa

The seat equiped with some electrical parts like motor, power supply, remote control must meet the requirements hereafter.

The new product has to pass the endurance tests equiped with their electrical parts. In case of new motor or power supply propositions, the product should pass the tests again.

The standard required is the BS EN 13759 : 2012 (durability of reclining and/ or tilting mechanisms and operating mechanisms for convertible sofa beds test method for reclining/tilting )

• Durability test with a loading of 100 kg on the seat for 5000 cycles (1 cycle = relax position / seat position)

• After this test, the product must be usablel without any mechanical and/or electrical trouble.

• The lab in charge of the test shoud give in the test report the description of each electrical components

• It is recommended to use some motor DC 29 V, 75 W or more according the product need

• For product with relax function only, the motor should bear 1500 N (Push and Pull max force)

• For product with relax and lift functions, the motor should bear 6000 N (Push and Pull max force)

• The power supply must be labelled CE, UL, GS

• Some automatic protections of the power supply are required

• Handset buttons (up and down buttons integrated in the product side) : Use a handset device with buttons accessible through the leather /fabric/ PU directly (avoid the buttons contact not bound with the handset body)

9 –PRECISIONS FOR GAS LIFT

• All the seats equiped with gas lift including the bar stools.

It is mandatory to use gas lift certified according to the DIN 4550.
