A. THE INSTALLATION SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL LOCAL LAWS AND ORDINANCES, APPLICABLE TOELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS, AND WITH THE REGULATIONS OF NFPA 70 (NATIONAL ELECTRICALCODE) AND 70E (STANDARD FOR ELECTRICAL SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE) WHERE SUCHREGULATIONS DO NOT CONFLICT WITH THOSE LAWS. SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALLPERMITS AND COORDINATE ALL INSPECTIONS REQUIRED BY THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION(AHJ).

B. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS REQUIRED FOR THIS WORK.

C. ALL MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND APPARATUS COVERED BY THIS SPECIFICATION SHALL BE NEW,OF CURRENT MANUFACTURER AND SHALL BEAR THE SEAL OF APPROVAL OF THE UNDERWRITERS'LABORATORIES (UL LISTED). NEW EQUIPMENT SHALL BE CLEARLY LABELED WITH THEMANUFACTURER'S NAMEPLATE DATA.

D. ALL EQUIPMENT TO BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE AS MANUFACTURED BYGENERAL ELECTRIC, SQUARE-D COMPANY, SIEMENS AND/OR CUTLER HAMER. (WESTINGHOUSE.)

E. ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE NEW.

F. "PROVIDE" UNDER THIS CONTRACT IS DEFINED AS FURNISH AND INSTALL. "CONCEALED" UNDERTHIS CONTRACT IS DEFINED AS HIDDEN BY ARCHITECTURAL WALLS AND CEILINGS. "EXPOSED"UNDER THIS CONTRACT IS DEFINED AS VISIBLE TO VIEW. "INDICATED" UNDER THIS CONTRACT ISDEFINED AS SHOWN IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.

G. ALL ELECTRICAL PANELS, AND ALL MAJOR PIECES OF EQUIPMENT SHALL BE CLEARLY LABELEDWITH MINIMUM 25.4 MM [1"] HIGH LETTERS. PROVIDE A TYPED CIRCUIT DIRECTORY FOR EACHPANELBOARD INSTALLED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. EXISTING PANELBOARDS BEING REVISED SHALLHAVE DIRECTORY CORRECTED TO REFLECT TO NEW CONDITION.

H. THE SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL LEAVE THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM INSTALLED UNDER THISCONTRACT IN PROPER WORKING ORDER AND SHALL REPLACE, WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGE, ALLWORK OR MATERIAL WHICH MAY DEVELOP DEFECTS, ORDINARY WEAR AND TEAR OR DAMAGERESULTING FROM IMPROPER HANDLING EXCEPTED, WITHIN A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FORM THEDATE OF INITIAL TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE BY THE CONTRACTOR.

I. COORDINATION

I.1. ALL CONTROL WIRING LESS THAT 120V FOR HVAC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE FURNISHED ANDINSTALLED BY DIVISION 23.

I.2. ALL CONTROL WIRING 120V AND ABOVE FOR HVAC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE FURNISHED ANDINSTALLED BY DIVISION 26.

J. EXISTING CONDITIONS AND DEMOLITION WORK

J.1. THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH ALL THE EXISTINGCONDITIONS THAT MAY AFFECT HIS WORK.

J.2. THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH ARCHITECTURAL DEMOLITION PLANS FOR ALLDEMOLITION WORK. REMOVE, PACKAGE AND STORE ALL EXISTING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENTNOTED TO BE RE-USED, REFURBISH ALL OF THIS EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION PER NEWWORK.

J.3. THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE CONTINUITY OF ALL EXISTING ELECTRICAL WORKAFFECTED BY THIS CONTRACT. RESTORE CIRCUITS SERVING EXISTING EQUIPMENT TO REMAINWHICH ARE INTERRUPTED DURING THE COURSE OF THIS WORK. ANY REQUIRED ELECTRICALOUTAGE SHALL BE AFTER REGULAR HOURS AND REQUESTED IN WRITING FOR APPROVAL BY THEBUILDING OWNER/REPRESENTATIVE.

I. GENERALa. THIS IS A DESIGN BID PROJECT AND THIS IS A HIGH LEVEL PHASING PLAN. THE CONTRACTOR WILL

PROVIDE A DETAILED PHASING PLAN COMPLETE WITH METHODS AND PROCEDURES (MOPS) FORREVIEW, APPROVAL, AND COORDINATION WITH NIH PRIOR TO EXECUTION OF WORK.

b. THE MOPS WILL PROVIDE A COORDINATED CONSTRUCTION PHASING PLAN TO MINIMIZEDOWNTIME TO THE AFFECTED FACILITIES. THE MOP SHALL INCLUDE BACK-OUT PROCEDURES TORETURN THE INFRASTRUCTURE TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE IF A MOP IS DISRUPTED.

c. ALL EXISTING SYSTEMS ARE TO OPERATE CONCURRENTLY AND CONTINUOUSLY, EXCEPT ASDESCRIBED HEREIN.

d. THE WORK SCHEDULE IN OCCUPIED AREAS SHALL BE COORDINATED AND AGREED UPON BY NIH.II. INFRASTRUCTURE MODIFICATION APPROVAL PROCESS

a. MOPS AND SCHEDULE SHALL BE SUBMITTED AND APPROVED BY NIH PRIOR TO INTERRUPTINGANY LIVE CIRCUITS OR SHUT DOWN OF ANY SYSTEM. NIH RESERVES THE RIGHT TO POSTPONEAPPROVED SHUT DOWNS AT THEIR DISCRETION. ALL OUTAGES SHALL BE SCHEDULED WITH NIHWITH A MINIMUM OF TWO WEEKS NOTICE PRIOR TO THE NEED OF A SHUT DOWN OF ANY SYSTEM.

b. INTERRUPTION SHALL BE PERFORMED IN COORDINATION WITH NIH, USING OSHA LOCKOUT ANDTAGOUT PROCEDURES.

c. ANY WORK THAT COULD IMPACT NIH'S PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT SHALL BE PERFORMED USINGNIH'S CHANGE CONTROL PROCESS.

d. ANY WORK THAT COULD IMPACT NIH'S LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS SHALL BE PERFORMED USING NIH'SBURN PERMIT PROCESS AND WITH A FIRE WATCH ON DUTY FOR THE DURATION OF THE OUTAGE.

e. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL INCOMING UTILITY SERVICE OUTAGES WITH PEPCOAND NIH.

III. CONSTRUCTION PHASING:a. PROVIDE TEMPORARY SWITCHGEAR 3 COMPLETE WITH FEEDERS AND ALL OTHER APPURTANCES

AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE CONTINUITY OF POWER TO THE EXISTING SWITCHGEAR 3ELECTRICAL LOADS.

b. TRANSFER ALL EXISTING ACTIVE LOADS FROM EXISTING SWITCHGEAR 3 TO TEMPORARYSWITCHGEAR 3.

1. ALL TEMPORARY COMPONENTS WILL BE DESIGNED INACCORDANCE WITH THE NIH DRM AND PEPCO REQUIREMENTS.

2. REFER TO DRAWINGS ET002 AND ET201 FOR MOREINFORMATION.

3. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COSTSASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING TEMPORARY POWER INCLUDING,BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROVIDING TEMPORARY SWITCHGEAR,TEMPORARY FEEDERS, & TEMPORARY CONDUIT STRUCTURE.

4. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING ALLASPECTS OF WORK REQUIRED FOR THE PROVISION OFTEMPORARY POWER.

5. CONTRACTOR MAY ELECT TO UTILIZE OTHER MEANS ANDMETHODS OF PROVIDING TEMPORARY POWER, WITH WRITTENAPPROVAL FROM NIH AND PEPCO, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TOTHE OWNER.

PROVIDE FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS TO INTERFACE TO THE MEDIACONVERTORS AND THE EXISTING FIBER OPTIC PATCH PANEL. COORDINATEWITH NIH CIT.

CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY THAT EXISTING FIBER OPTIC CABLING ISSOURCED FROM THE EXISTING FIBER OPTIC PATCH PANEL. COORDINATEWITH ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR FOR FIBER OPTIC CABLING ANDCONNECTOR TYPE.

12VDC POWER SUPPLY AS SPECIFIED BY CAMERA BY MANUFACTURER.

PROVIDE AND INSTALL MEDIA CONVERTERS AND CABLING TO EXISTINGHEAD END EQUIPMENT. COORDINATE LOCATION AND CONNECTION TOHEAD END EQUIPMENT WITH DPSM.
