So, here is an email Martie forwarded to me. "I was wondering if you guys are the same ones that make quilts and donate them to different organizations. If so, I would like to express my gratitude. My son and I were in a "situation"- he was given a blanket and on the inside was a tag that said Sandhills Quilters. It nearly brings me to tears thinking about how much he loves it. Thank you and God bless you. In this world there seems times when no one cares, but looking at him with that blanket shows me there are still some who do." So it is great that our comfort quilts are appreciated!!! There were 402 quilts entered into the Paducah quilt show. Six were from our guild members- Mary Williams (2) and one each from Liz Earley, Pat Smith, Linda James and Frances Yoder. Three of the awards at the show came to our guild members- a blue ribbon to Frances Yoder and honorable mention awards to Pat Smith and Mary Williams. Congratulations to them all. Congratulations to Nanette Zeller for being the featured artist for May at the Eye Candy Gallery. It is located at 275 N.E. Broad St., in Southern Pines and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nanette's art quilts are very inspiring- be sure to stop by to see them this month. President’s Message

Sometimes we wonder if our comfort quilts are appreciated.
